Melanie.

Alana tried to persuade me to go out again with her, but I quickly informed her that I needed a break to go back to my old habits. She understood that the previous night had been too much and just nodded her head without argument.

I headed out just as she was starting to get ready. I opted to keep on Hunter's hoodie, mainly because I could not force myself to part with the warmth it gave me and the sweet scent of him it engulfed me in.

When I arrived at the library, I promptly headed up to the top floor. On the walk over I had toyed with the possibility of Hunter coming to see me again, but I had quickly squashed the idea that he would choose the library over a party. So when I arrived at my spot in the corner to see a tall muscular guy with perfectly messy brown hair, it was safe to say I was quite shocked.

It was almost as if he could sense my presence behind him because as soon as I started approaching he turned around and offered me a big dorkish grin. "I was wondering when you were going to finally show up."

I rolled my eyes and chuckled, wondering to myself just how long he had been here waiting for me. "I am surprised you are here," I responded as I got closer. When I made it to the corner, Hunter stood up from his lounge chair and gave me a big bear hug. I was surprised at the contact at first but promptly hugged him right back.

After a moment he pulled away and I sat down in the second lounge chair. "Why are you surprised? I wanted to come and spend some quality time with my friend." He wiggled his eyebrow at the word friend, insinuating that it was something more than friends but I just laughed it off.

"Is that so?" I retorted back as I reached into my bag to pull out a new book. "You don't mind if I read a little right?" I asked, hoping he would say it was okay. As much as I wanted to spend time with him, I really needed some time for me to get lost in a new story and forget about everything.

To my relief, he responded, "Of course I don't mind. I don't want to hijack your spot or anything, I just thought it would be nice to sit here with you." I smiled at his thoughtfulness and proceed to open my book.

The story was action-packed from the beginning and quickly pulled me into the plot, but after a little while, I started to find myself stealing glances at the handsome boy in front of me. He was on his computer, probably watching a football game or playing some video game, but every time I glanced up our eyes seemed to meet.

After about an hour and a half Hunter spoke up, "Okay I know I promised I would let you be, and while I have thoroughly enjoyed being able to sit here and watch you look so adorable all cuddle up in my sweatshirt reading, I think it is time we go on a little adventure."

I smiled back at him. "What did you have in mind?" I questioned, starting to feel butterflies in my stomach at the thought of going anywhere with him.

He closed his computer and started to get up, "It is a surprise."

I was not one for surprises and I definitely wasn't very spontaneous, but as Hunter stood there and reached his hand out for me I had a feeling I would follow him anywhere. So I placed my hand in his and let him pull me up and lead me out on whatever grand adventure he had in mind.
