Albus and the others arrived to a pandemonium, children like them who had just arrived from the Express stood around the main entrance unsure of what to do. The ceiling of the Entrance Hall was showering dust over everything, teachers ran towards the Ravenclaw tower. When all of a sudden a huge explosion shook the whole school, Albus who had walked into the Hall, felt the floor shift beneath his feet and stumbling backwards he fell and hit the back of his head against the wall.
The dust was so thick in the air that no one could see a thing. When the dust had cleared others like Albus got to their feet, the teachers took a little longer having fallen on the Marble staircase. Albus stepped forwards and walked past the teachers he didn't know why but he continued to climb the marble staircase and now slightly jogging he carried on down the twisting corridors, until he reached it the bottom of the spiral staircase. Half of it had been blown out into the hall, where a narrow doorway should have been was just a big ugly gaping hole as the lower half of the staircase had been blown outwards. Professor McGonagall suddenly appeared at his shoulder, he could hear the silent howl of rage in her throat, she needed to blame someone and this time she had someone there to blame.
Professor Blackheart lay face down; her hair turned grey with dust but most disturbing was her smoking clothes and wand.
Ravenclaws' new common room was the Great Hall. Worried parents invaded the school with letters and even themselves but no child had been seriously injured. As the tower had still held the common room up, even if there was no bottom stairwell, Albus had still been there when the teachers had to do a rescue mission to get the few remaining students ( who were mostly Year Sevens) out of the common room. Needless to say they were terrified and this terror was heightened when Douglas Tracey opened the common room's door and stared down into the empty space that had suddenly appeared there. Albus had to admit it did look quite comical as one by one the students were lifted to safety by use of hover charms.
The only person who had been injured was Professor Blackheart, who had never woken afterwards, it was proven that she had done the curse that ruined the tower, she had made three attempts at it the last one succeeding.
Albus thought about his bed stuck up in the tower, for some reason the wind was wiping around. He snuggled down into his camp bed listening to the rest of the Ravenclaws whispers. Some were describing how the tall magnificent glass windows had shattered and rained down in crystals on to their heads, others spoke of how they had clung to their heavy four poster beds as they sailed across the room and fearing that the floor would give way. Rosina Greene a girl in Albus year rolled over to him and asked him if he was alright after having seen the body of Professor Blackheart. Until that moment he hadn't thought about it and he really didn't know if he was alright.
