Chapter 13: adding depth to friendship

3rd person pov

Y/n wanted to continue with the friendship he made so far, so he decided to spend time with his friends again.

Y/n: (in head) maybe hanging out with some friends will make feel better about rei.

Y/n went to planeptune's basilicom to hang out with neptune. Inside he saw she had a large stack of papers.

Neptune: y/n!
Y/n: you look like need some help.
Neptune: tell me about it. I want to finish my work for today. Can you please help?
Y/n: sure.

Despite having a large stack of papers, the two managed to finish them all.

Neptune: thank you so much, y/n. You were a real help.
Y/n: i'll always be able to help out.

Y/n left the room and felt the power of the fool card strengthening him and neptune further.
Y/n looked outside and saw it was the afternoon and went to the forest again to see if he can train with IF.

Y/n: IF.
IF: y/n. Did you want to train again with me?
Y/n: yes. Of course.
IF: well, let's get started.

The two trained and after a while, they took a breather. Little did they know they were being spied on.

Y/n: i think we've done enough for today.
IF: we'll train some other time again.

Suddenly a girl with red hair came out of the bushes and happily greeted IF.

???: hey wifey!
IF: oh... Hi red
Red: who's the guy with the mask?

Red took a look at the masked thief and noticed he wasn't making any sound.

IF: this is y/n. He's that thief who's been helping me out with training.
Red: a thief?
IF: a pretty good one too.
Red: sure... But i think i know something he can't steal.

Y/n spoke to IF, but red couldn't hear him.

Red: what did he say?
IF: he already stole it.
Red: stole what?

Y/n then pointed to IF's chest.

IF: he said my heart.
Red: you conniving son of a-!

Red was about to punch y/n's mask, but he moved out of the way and knocked red unconscious with a swift chop to the neck.

Y/n: don't worry. She'll be fine.

Y/n carried red and let her rest on a tree. He then pulled out a marker and was planning something.

Y/n: you wanna join?
IF: she has annoyed me enough. This will be a good payback.

The two started to scribble stuff on red's face. IF looked at y/n and gave him something. It was a key with a spade symbol on it.

IF: it's a key to the apartment. I... Thought you would like it.

The masked thief gave IF a smile with his eyes and left the forest. As he was leaving, he felt the power of the temperance card making him and IF stronger.
Before calling it a day, y/n went to go see compa if she properly finished her medicine.

Y/n: have you fixed the medicine you developed?
Compa: yes! This time there will be no negative effects.
Y/n: (in head) this better be fixed.
Compa: i promise it won't make you black out like last time

Y/n gave the nurse a nod and drank the medicine. It had another sweet taste. To his surprise, he didn't collapse.

Compa: it worked! I made the medicine work!

Compa hugged y/n happily and had her chest press against his again.

Y/n: (in head) i'm no perv, but... I like hugs from compa.

The masked thief waved goodbye to the nurse and as he left, he felt the power of the sun card growing more in him and compa. He had more bonds to deepen tommorow.
After waking up, he headed to Lastation to go see Noire again. He walked in and saw her cosplaying and noticed she was wearing the same phantom thief outfit as him.

Noire: it's... Not what it looks... Like.
Y/n: you know... You look pretty good in my attire.

Noire couldn't help but blush at the fact that y/n thought she looked good wearing the same outfit he does.

Noire: r-really?
Y/n: would i lie to a good friend of mine?
Noire: friends don't lie to each other. And you're an amazing friend, y/n.

The two shared a nice chuckle and y/n left Noire to do continue her cosplaying thing. As he left, he felt Noire's powr grow with his because of the chariot card.
He wanted to see Vert, so he headed off to Leanbox. He sat at the same window and greeted her.

Y/n: hi Vert.
Vert: you've come to play with again i assume?
Y/n: i'd love to play more with you.
Vert: can i... Pat your head? For good luck of course.
Y/n: i like it when you pat me.

The masked thief allowed Vert to pat his head again. After giving him a little head pat, the two took seats and started to play some more videogames together.

Y/n: it's always a good time when i'm with any of you.
Vert: aww. Such a sweet thing to come from you.

Vert patted the thief's head before he left. When he did, y/n felt the hermit card empowering him and vert even more.
Before he would return the apartment, he decided to go see Blanc at Lowee. He entered Blanc's room and saw she was working on a story.

Y/n: what do you plan on writing?
Blanc: can... I give you a small spoiler?
Y/n: what is it?
Blanc: i'm writing a story about you and all of us. You're story is very interesting and i want it to be known by everyone. I hope you have a happy ending.

Y/n hugged blanc and looked into her eyes.

Y/n: we'll get our ending as a team.
Blanc: then i wish us the best of luck.

They had a good hug and y/n left Lowee to go back to the apartment. On his way, the magician card granted more strength to him and Blanc.
He wanted to continue his friendship with his remaining teammates tommorow.
