It's the week before my due date and I'm on my way to see the midwife before I go to see our Eva and little baby Tanner whilst Craig's at training.  Tanner Locke Casey was born just two days after Serena was born weighing eight pounds and six ounces. He's absolutely gorgeous, and the image of how the twins were when they were born.

I'm sat in my doctors waiting room, waiting for the midwife to call me in. "Catherine" Jean, the lovely doctors receptionist calls to me. I look up from my phone pausing my text to Craig and smile politely at her. "Yes?" I ask.

"Did Pam mention that Pat's actually off sick today? We've got a locum midwife instead" Jean explains.

Pat, my midwife, is amazing— she's older than Helen, my other midwife in hospital. A wise midwife, I'd say I've got the best two midwifes for me and my boy. "Oh, okay? I hope pat's okay?" I say concernedly.

"Just a touch of a cold she said" jean smiles warmly.

"Aaah, seems to be a lot of that going around doesn't there?" I ask her.

"Mrs Catherine Berkeley to the midwifes office" the robotic voice says through the speaker.

"Oh," I say standing up. "I'll you in a bit jean" I wave to her and walk to the midwifes office.

Knocking on the door, I wait for a reply. "Come in" the voice replies.

I enter the room and there sat at the desk I'm used to seeing pat sat at, is a woman about my mum's age. She's slim with blonde hair, she seems familiar somehow.

"Hi, I'm Pauline—I'll be covering for Pat while she's off sick" she smiles warmly at me. "How are we feeling today Catherine?" She asks me.

"Okay, I suppose. Just tired a lot— his head feels like it's really there you know?" I gesture to my down below.

She smiles in understanding. "Can I see you notes please? I'll see what pat wrote last week, you've been having weekly visits for the last month, Is that right?" She asks me as I hand her my maternity notes.

"Yeah, I have SPD— it's gotten worse the bigger my son has got. Pat said he's now fully engaged, so I could go at anytime really." I tell her.

"Oh, I had that over my daughter—it's horrible isn't it?" She smiles sadly. "She's about your age, how old are you?" She asks looking at my notes.

"Twenty one" I reply.

"Yeah, same age" she smiles warmly.

I smile back politely and she starts to write in my notes. "So how is the pain? Pat mentioned that you've been having back pain" she reads and looks up at me.

"Yeah, it's the same really—the belt helps alot like" I reply.

"The joys us women have to go through, eh? Though we would have it any other way would we?" She smiles warmly at me. "Can you get on the bed so I can examine you? Or is it too hard for to do?" She asks me.

I look to the bed which is a little high. "Um?" I hesitate.

"I can lower it and I've got a footstep here too if that'll help?" She says gesturing to the step under the bed.

"Okay" I nod.

Pauline lowers the bed and puts the footstep next to the bed. "Right, do you need help or are you okay?" She asks me.
