"Oh honey, there's no such thing as monsters."

"Don't worry sweetie there's nothing hiding in the dark."

Since the dark ages this were the reassuring words mothers would tell their children before they tuck them into bed. Giving them a sense of safety and protection, that there's nothing hiding in the dark that could hurt them...

The biggest lies that was ever told to us when were children...

Because as you grow up, you started to see and understand things you didn't back when you were just a kid. You knew you were never alone, even when you're the only one around. You always knew that there was someone or something watching you, you can't see it, but you know it's there.

Paranoid? You might ask yourself this and it might be true. But the moment you turn off the lights, you never really know what's happening around you in the dark, which keeps you awake. Because you can't shake the feeling that you're being watched. And that thing is watching patiently, waiting for the right moment, and that moment is when you fall asleep, when you are at your weakest.
