It was November 1st and Cassidy took a pregnancy test once she realized that she hadn't had a period for the month of October she knew she had to take it. She finished her make up for school as she waited for the results and then she tied her cheer ribbon in her hair and made sure her uniform was good. She went back in the bathroom and there it was clear as day two blue lines she was pregnant.
She let out a breathe and grabbed her stuff and left. She found Bucky flirting with another girl in the athlete hallway as she was at her locker and she slammed her locker and walked out. He seen her and told the girl he would talk to her later. He ran up behind her and said "hey what's your problem this morning."
She pulled him into the area underneath the stairs and whispered "You were wrong.. I'm pregnant you asshole."
"Baby please tell me that you are joking." he whispered
She pulled the test out of her purse and hands it to him and he swallowed hard and said "Okay well um let's go to the doctor maybe this is wrong."
They went in his truck and they went to her doctor and she did an ultrasound and there was the heartbeat and the doctor said "7 weeks due in June Cassidy."
Cassidy wiped tears and said "Thank you."
She cleaned the gel off her stomach. She got ultrasounds and shoved them in her purse and got in Bucky's truck. She wiped tears although the way back to school and he said "You have to cheer tonight you can't let anybody know about this okay."
"Bucky I can't cheer I'm one of the ones that goes up in the air and flips around I can't do that." she said
"You can't act like anything is wrong." he said
"No I will not risk my life or the baby's life Bucky I'm sorry." she said
She got out of the truck and he came over to her and said "Please don't do this you don't understand."
She rolled her eyes and walked off . She went to her cheer coach's office and talked to her and she was able to keep her captain status and she was going to allow her to be like her assistant coach. Bucky tried all day to get her to not do anything till he figured out what to do but she wouldn't listen.
When Cassidy got home she said "Hey mom.."
"Hey honey in the kitchen with Winnie." she said
She went into the kitchen and said "Um mom I have to tell you something."
"Okay." Katherine said
"I'm pregnant.. and I already talked to coach and been to the doctor here's my ultrasounds I'm 7 weeks pregnant and I"m due in June. Coach is going to let me be like the assistant coach." she said
Katherine looked at them and said "Okay baby.. I'll help you with this okay."
"Can I ask who you are sleeping with? I never see you with anyone at the school or you never have a football number on your cheek." Winnie said as she's been subbing for one of the teacher for the past month.
"I um I'm sleeping with Bucky." she said
"my son?'"Winnie said
"Yeah..anyways I'm going to take a nap." she said
Winnie looked at Katherine and said "I have to Katherine we will finish our conversation another time."
"okay." Katherine said
Winnie got to her house and said "James honey.."
James walked into the living room and said "Hey baby I haven't left yet."
"We have a problem. I just found out from Cassidy that she's pregnant with Bucky's baby that they have been sleeping together." Winnie said
"Where is he?' James said
Winnie called him and Bucky was at the school making out with another cheerleader and she said 'Barnes your phone is buzzing."
"Hey mom' he said
"James you need to come right now." Winnie said
"Um why? I have warm ups soon" he says as he winks at the girl.
"Because I would like to talk to you son." James said
"Yes sir I'll be home." Bucky said
He hung up his phone and said "Darlin I'm sorry family emergency gotta go."
He got in his truck and headed back to his house. When he walked in and said "You wanted to talk to me."
"What's this I hear that you got some girl pregnant." James said
He looked down and shut down and James said "James Buchanan I asked you a question."
If there was one person in Bucky's life that put the fear of god in him it was his dad and he was already on his dad's bad side after his sophomore year of high school. "Okay you don't want to talk get in your mother's car. We are going to go for a ride." he said
"But dad I have a game it's the state championship." he said
"I don't care." he said as he pulled him by the ear and made him get in the car. They drove over to Katherine and Cassidy's duplex that was two streets over. Cassidy was in her cheer sweat pants and a cheer t shirt sleeping on her couch when she was jolted awake by some one banging loud on the door.
Katherine answered it and said "James Winnie.. Bucky."
She let them in and Cassidy sat up and James said "Katherine did you know that she is pregnant."
"Oh yeah it was me that told Winnie." Cassidy said
"Yeah she came home and told me and told me that she's already talked to her coach and went to the doctor she's 7 weeks due in June. Here's her ultrasounds." Katherine said
"Well since Cassidy seems to be the one that wants people to know unlike my son who refuses to talk Cassidy how did this happen?' James said
Bucky looked at her and shook his head no and James said "Look at me Cassidy Jo not him you are a good girl I know you are tell me how did this happen."
She swallowed hard "Um I got my shot the week after homecoming and I told him he had to pull but he kept forgetting and um kept telling me and reassuring me that there was no way I could get pregnant in one night." she said
Bucky closed his eyes and looked at the floor as he shook his head. "Thank you Cassidy." James said
"I found out this morning when I peed on a stick and when I came to tell him he freaked out on me and told me not to tell anyone and wanted me to cheer tonight and pretend like nothing was wrong." Cassidy said
"Thank you Cassidy." Winnie said
"Can we go I have a game." Bucky said
"Um no.. you are not going to the game." James said
Cassidy looked at her mom and mouthed "I have to go"
Katherine texted her 'Just wait a few minutes."
