"i told you, brendon, i'm busy," tyler huffed after picking up the phone.

"well, i said i was going to call you in five minutes. but did you read my text?" brendon paused, and tyler prepared himself for the unneeded sass that usually followed anything brendon said. "no, you didn't."

"whatever," tyler muttered. but unfortunately, his friend heard.

the anger of tyler moving away must've resurfaced because brendon decided to utter something he had never said before, especially to tyler.

"god, you're such a fucking brat," brendon growled before hanging up.

tyler didn't like that word.

people used the word so loosely to describe him, and he hated it. just because he wasn't the nicest kid in the world didn't mean that he was a...y'know.

he'd had enough bad experiences with that word anyway.

"he's so damn inconsiderate," the brunette cursed under his breath, pushing his chair back. "he knows damn well that i hate that fucking word."

brendon had always tried to never let the word escape his lips, so he had to of been really pissed to even think about saying it.

tyler sighed, getting up and walking over to his window. he sat down and stared out at the series of white houses, a sad longing feeling washing over him.

ever since his mother decided to move, things went to shit. he lost touch with almost all of his friends. well, except for brendon, who seemed to be taking a break from him too.

as he watched a few small kids ride by his house on their bikes, he couldn't help but think about what brendon had said.

god, you're such a fucking brat.

the phrase repeated over and over in his head until he couldn't take it anymore.

brat.

tyler sighed. "i guess it's time to sleep away my problems. again."
