tyler felt the pang in his heart at the word. that word.
brat.
he wasn't about to show the asshole with the red hair in front of him that he had just hit a soft spot, so he decided to sass him back.
"so what?" he hissed, which made the other male smirk.
"you should really straighten up. that little attitude of yours won't get you anywhere."
"like i care," he muttered. "just leave me alone, you douche."
tyler walked away, leaving the other male smirking in triumph. he just kept searching for the office.
shouldn't the office be by the front door? why the fuck should i have to look for it?
he sighed heavily, gazing around like a lost kid in a mall. he didn't cry like one, though. he just toughed it out and kept walking.
"are you lost?" a female asked, making the brunette jump in shock. he turned to face an auburn-haired female. "you look like a missing puppy."
"you could say i'm lost," he agreed. "but no need for the analogy."
"oops, sorry. i'm debby." she offered her hand, and he hesitantly took it.
"tyler."
"are you new here? it's hard to keep track because there's so many damn people in this school." the boy chuckled lightly at her words.
"yeah, i'm new. is it that obvious?" he asked.
"yeah. you looked like you had no idea what you were doing," she explained. "but don't worry. once you're used to this school, it's hard to forget where anything is."
the two chatted as she lead him to the main office, lightly pushing him in. "see ya."
"wait, where are you going?" he questioned just before she walked away.
"to class, silly. you'll get another guide, don't worry." she smiled, giving him a thumbs-up. "see you at lunch. i'll be at one of the round tables in the back."
"bye."
