Chapter Two
Oliver White
Knock. Knock. Knock.
I look up from the book I was reading when I heard the loud banging on my door. I sat up and waited for more knocks to come and when it did, I decided to take my earphones and open the door. "Oliver!" I hear my Dad exclaiming from the other side of the door.
"What's up?" I ask once I opened the door. In a household like this, you really need to learn how to keep your cool.
"Will you ever go out of that room of yours?" My dad asks with a frown on his face, "You have one more year, have you decided where to go?"
"Dad, are we seriously going to talk about that right now?" I replying returning his question. I walk pass by him and climb down the stairs to the kitchen where my Mom was cooking. I hear my Dad chase after me, well clearly I angered him for some reason.
"Excuse you but you'll have to decide what you're going to in a few more months."
"I have a year to decide and one thing I know is that I don't want to go to that dream college of yours. I mean look at me, I'm no genius." I answer back, grabbing my shoes by the door.
"Where are you going?" I hear my Mom suddenly call out from the kitchen.
"Somewhere, where I don't have to worry about my future" I walk straight for the door but then I was blocked Eddie, my dog. I looked at him shaking my head in apology, "Not today buddy, some people are being controlling again." I pat Eddie on the head before stepping out my house.
I decided to start off jogging for a bit since jogging was one of the things that can help me release stress and sometimes anger. I must've jogged around town for about half an hour when all of a sudden I was stopped by some invisible wall.
How the hell would a wall appear out of nowhere?
I look up and suddenly meet the eyes of a stranger, no a girl. The girl looks at me with a small frown on her face for some reason as if I interrupted her thoughts, more like she was the one who interrupted me. "Excuse me?" I let out as I dusted myself off.
The girl on the other hand rubbed the sides of her camera making sure that it wasn't harmed or anything and after that just turns around to leave.
She left with no word, not even a simple "sorry for bumping you."
What even.
I follow her with my gaze waiting for her to at least turn back around to say a late apology but nothing came. Way to make my day worse.
