11. Shattered

You felt lost. Like a child lost in a fair, you saw all these events happening right in front of you but you felt detached. As if you were floating somewhere above and watching on, not as if you were actually going through these.

You just silently held Jimin as he broke down in your arms. Between sobs he'd keep murmuring "I love you, Y/n." and "I'm sorry. Don't leave me."

You simply stroked his soft, fluffy hair trying to calm him down. Then suddenly you were thrown out of the daze you had been in. You become alert to everything that was happening. You felt few strands of Jimin's hair tickle your cheek as they blew with the wind. You felt his his strong arms around your body, holding you tightly as if you might run away. You felt the growing dampness of your t-shirt as it soaked all his tears. You heard him softly sniffling as he tried to stop crying. You felt your heart become heavy from the decision you knew you had to make. You had to tell Jungkook the truth.

"Jimin, Jungkook." Was all you said and he pulled away from you. His eyes twinkled with tears but he refused to let them fall.

"Yeah, I'm sorry." He said and just like that he turned away and began walking away from you, never looking back even once to see if you were following him. Suddenly the image of him leaving you alone in his condo everyday flashed before your eyes and instantly as if the two had switched places you were the one holding back tears. You bit your lip letting a few tears fall from your eyes as you thought about how Jungkook never left you alone. Never.

You glanced up to find Jimin's figure fading away. You quickly wiped your tears and ran after him. He would probably forget about you and leave you to die of hypothermia. So much for that love he was crying about a few minutes ago. You gritted your teeth as you saw him standing next to the car door, waiting for you. Right now you hated him, hated how he could make butterflies flutter in your stomach by the slightest touch, how he led you on hoping for the best before dropping you from the clouds back to earth, how there was a boy who just wanted you but you couldn't give him that because you had already given your heart to the Devil himself.

You got into the car and stared out the window at the passing buildings. You simply stared to stop the tears that were threatening to fall and betray you any second. Before you knew it, Jimin pulled up outside the building. Without saying a word you got out and slammed the door shut after you. Remembering how Jungkook would be waiting for you, you ran up the stairs because the elevator was too slow. You stopped, heavily panting, before Jimin's front door. Hesitantly, you placed your hand on the door knob and slowly opened the door. You stood frozen when you heard Jungook singing.

Ipbeoreutcheoreom malhae
Urin gyeolgugen an dwae
Geuraedo nan gyesok barae Majikmado neowa hamkkeramyeon I'm okay

You felt the tears pour as you heard him singing with his whole heart. The pain in his voice was like ice shards piercing your heart. The worst part was that you understood what he was singing. It was the lyrics of 'House of Cards'.

Say it like you mean it
In the end we can't make it
Even so I keep hoping
Even at the end if you're with me
I'm okay

You kneeled before the door, like a sinner would while confessing his sins, as Jungkook continued with the song. Mid chorus, his voice cracked and he started sobbing. You meanwhile just held yourself, begging that Jungkook would forgive you for what you had done to him. His sobs soon stopped and no more sound came from the apartment. You sat, leaning against the door, trying to stop the continuous pour of tears. You couldn't.

After what must have been like an hour, you entered the place with a heavy, tired heart. You walked in to find Jungkook in deep slumber on the living room couch. You made your way to him and knelt before his sleeping form.
