Transformers Prime A New Life For Two

Chapter 4 - saying goodbye

Couple days passed, Hailey and Hannah were getting ready for a long heartbreaking day while Miko tried to convince her host mother to not wear all black.

Eventually Miko gave up and put on what she was told to wear, figuring it wouldn't hurt for one day.

When she left her room she saw Hailey wearing a laced black dress with laced sleeves  and Hannah had a simple black dress with short sleeves but had a black Shaw with medium sleeves on.

"Let's go girls we'll be late" called the host mother.

The three went down and got into the car, Miko sat between the two sisters, she reached a hand out and took hold of each girls hand.

Both Hailey and Hannah looked surprised for a moment but smiled at Miko, and they squeezed her hand.

(Funeral home)

The service for the funeral was done, it felt like eternity to the girls who watched soldiers carry their parents out.

The Autobots agreed to join the girls using their holoforms Ratchet made up so they could blend in with the humans if they had to mingle with them.

Hannah was trying so hard not to cry where her sister was crying her heart out, Fowler was beside them a hand on a each girls shoulder.

Ratchet wanted to do something for them to say something but he didn't know what, everyone figured he didn't like humans which was a little true but he did feel sorry for Hannah and Hailey.

Arcee walked over to the girls and gave each one a big hug, Bumblebee and Smokescreen did the same as the femme Bulkhead gave them a pat on the head with a soft smile as Optimus gave both one big hug at the same time.

Ratchet walked up beside his leader and frowned still not knowing what to do or say he looked up at Optimus for help.

"Why not just say sorry for your loss? Like everyone else has said" Optimus said quietly.

"I suppose I could" Ratchet frowned.

"It would make them feel better if you did" the Prime smiled.

Ratchet nodded and walked closer to the girls they both looked at him, watching him and he sighed.

"I'm sorry for your loss..." he said.

They both looked at each other then back to him with a smile that could melt the coldest hearts or sparks.

"That means so much to us Ratchet thank you" Hailey said.

"It does?" Ratchet asked shocked.

"Sure it does man, since Miko brought us to base we figured you hated us cause you were always quiet" Hannah said.

"But I guess we were wrong, maybe you just choose to stay quiet" Hailey said.

"Well...I never knew what to say to either of you so yeah I stayed quiet, I'm sorry I made you think I didn't like the two of you" Ratchet lowered his head.

"It's ok Ratchet really, we're just happy to know that you don't hate us" Hailey smiled.

(Couple hours later)

Hannah and Hailey were in their room relaxing, Miko was watching a movie in the living room while her host parents were out shopping.

Miko sent a text to Jack about how they could make Hannah and Hailey happy, as well as to how they could get Ratchet and the girls closer.

'Maybe we should let them handle getting closer to them, if we get involved we could screw up and make them hate each other' Jack texted.

"As if" Miko huffed 'why would they hate each other Jackie boy, unless they do something they'll never become friends'.

'Seriously Miko leave them alone, let them handle it, I'm sure over time they'll become friends like we have with Ratchet and the others' Jack said.

'Urg fine I guess, but what about making them happier?' Miko asked.

'I dunno just be with them I guess and not bring up their parents unless they wish to bring them up' Jack guessed.

Up stairs Hailey had decided to go for a bath, Hannah was randomly drawing, she hummed a little tune as she heard the water run.

Hailey looked in the mirror and sighed, she sent a text to Miko stating she was going for a bath, and Miko texted back saying it was fine.

"Ratchet kinda seems like a father type I wonder if he ever had a family" Hailey said aloud.

Hannah laid on her stomach humming when a thought hit her "I wonder if ratchet had a family of his own at some point" she said.

(Next day)

Everyone was in class Miko looking out the window instead of listening to the teacher which would get her in trouble at some point.

Hailey and Hannah were in gym class practicing for track and field, everyone splint into groups.

They were with a few others doing high jump, some were doing shot put and others were running the track, they're teacher mixed different track events each day to practice on.

Jack was in his class kinda listening to the teacher but watching the gym class, Raf was doing the same from his class.

(Base)

Ratchet was typing away a report and sent it to Fowler, sighing loudly he rotated his arm then the other and turned to face his oldest friend.

"Have you finished?" Optimus asked.

"I have, and I hope Fowler can work his magic so to speak, they could use a good home, and I've spent hours constructing a space for them" Ratchet said proudly showing the Prime the extra space.

Optimus saw a small kitchen area with storage for human food, and some machines he didn't know did what.

"These are called laundry machines they wash the humans clothes, I remember jack saying how his washer broke down once they had to use a place called the laundry mat" Arcee said.
(Dunno if they knew what laundry machines were or not and I don't remember if jasper had a laundry mat but I figured I'd put one in if it didn't)

Nodding the Prime turned to his friend and smiled as he patted the mechs shoulder "well done old friend, I'm sure your hard work will pay off, have you constructed a means for them to recharge at night?".

"Naturally" Ratchet smiled and motioned for the Prime to follow him, which he did and Ratchet took him to an old closet hardly used.

"I cleaned it out and scrubbed the walls and floors clean arranged it if they wish to stay in here or join the others and I already have all the furniture they'll need beds, a couch, tv again if they wish to stay in here....storage for their things" Ratchet said.

"Good job Ratchet, there is one more thing I must ask" Optimus said looking at the makeshift room.

"A means to bathe already ahead of you, I built a small area in the washracks for them they'll be in their own washing area I built walls with a roof once the military helped me with plumbing" Ratchet said.

"I'm proud of you Ratchet, well done" Optimus praised again.

"Well they stuck to me....I just want to see them happy is all" Ratchet said.

"This I'm sure will make them very happy" Optimus said leading them both back to the main room.
