" The world is in the peak of development. There is everything anyone would ever want. The necessities have been fulfilled. So, if a creativity is the secret that is going to help us attain success. Infact, even strange and weird will help us float the boat. We are forced to think differently, challenge the boundaries and take the wobbly steps of uncertainty. The idea our team has come up with is an experiment in that direction. "
" Our café chain, though popular, is facing a lot of competition and the truth be told, is barely standing in the market. Our idea is to start our franchise in one particular location that no other competitor will ever dare to step foot in...Graveyard"
I could see people confused, but they were definitely curious.
" The basic plan is to start a café in the graveyard near our city, as an experiment and see if we can execute and market it well. Any questions, suggestions, and criticisms are welcome" I said as I concluded my presentation.
The curious murmur among the executives was interrupted by one of the top officials.
"Bullshit. That is what this is. You call this an intelligent idea? Steve, you are wasting my time here. When you said your employee had a brilliant plan, I expected something more than utter bullshit.", he shouted, addressing my boss.
I was stunned by the harsh words. I knew my plan was good. I eyed my boss Steve, who looked at me helplessly.
"Sir, rather than trashing my plan, it would be helpful if you point out the flaws", I said, composing myself.
He didn't even acknowledge my question. He continued shouting."I never trust these young officials. Sleeping up the corporate ladder and then talking shit about improving the company."
I couldn't trust my ears. I was stunned and was brought back to reality when I heard a pen stand being smashed to the floor,"Sorry sir, the pen stand fell off...flew off from my desk, and I hope the rest of my objects stay on my desk", Rach was burning with anger.
I turned towards my boss Steve and whispered to him to declare a break, which he obediently obliged.
I walked fast out of the door, with Rach hot on my heels, and despite her protests, I asked her to go buy us lunch and headed towards the restroom.Once I got behind the closed door, the tears in my eyes flowed outward without a barrier to stop them. I sat down on the closed toilet seat and sobbed, not caring whether people could hear me.
"Hey"
I turned towards the direction of the voice, and saw Siaka standing beside me in that small space.
"I told you that you cannot appear when I am using the toilet or bathroom", I reminded him.
"Well, you aren't naked or pooping, so I don't think I am violating the rules", he said as he continued to look at me.
He held me closer to him in a hug, and I sobbed on his shirt, hugging him back.
"He accused me of sleeping up the ladder. I worked my ass off for this company. I toiled hard without even thinking of taking a vacation, and he ruins all that by saying I fucking slept my damn way up the ladder", I told him as I continued to cry.
"Yeah, you are not even that attractive to do so", he said and I hit him.
He exclaimed in pain, before holding my face in his hands, "Honey, your plan was amazing. Everyone knows that. They also know how hard you work and how much this job matters to you. Above all that, you know that you deserve your job and don't let any idiot take away that from you."He pulled out a towel from the air, and I got surprised by that, never getting used to the fact that he is God. He removed my glasses off and gently wiped the tears off my eyes.
"Honey, the guy seems suspicious. He is either holding a grudge against you, or is trying to hide something that would be exposed if you implement this plan. We are gonna find that out soon, I promise you, but the more important thing is for you to go back again to the meeting being your confident awesome self, and crushing that guy to death with your arguments", he said.I exhaled and held both his hands in my own.
"Thank you", I said and walked towards the exit of the restroom.
"By the way, darling, you are the most beautiful woman I have ever met", he said winking at me.
"Shut up", I said before walking towards the conference hall with new energy.
