I am really sorry for being so tardy, I know that sounds like a line at this point but I just can't help it!

I'm really sorry, I'll try harder!

I could not recall what the film regarded or how long it lasted, I only knew of how I felt at the time. My face much like my palm felt hot, thanks to the air conditioning I did not sweat, yet it could do little against the heat that lit up my face.

The film ended and I found myself wishing it had not, I did not want to leave, to release my hold. This did not go undetected by Victor, his gaze burning holes into me.

"Ready to go?" he asked as he stood from his sit, releasing my hand in the process. I shook my head in response to his query, the hand he held still warm as I held it in my other, that encircled the popcorn I had failed to eat. I am nowhere near prepared to leave. Victor lowered himself slightly. Gently resting his hand on my pair, holding the one he had before once again. " will" he called, and I lifted my head to meet his gaze. I know not how I had failed to notice the misty grey of his eyes or milky brown of his skin prior to this moment, but at this time, they seemed to be the only things I could see. " let's go" he smiled as I nodded, all worries of the events of this evening being confined to his theater vanishing.

We walked from there to where he had parked upon arrival, popcorn in one hand, and Victor's in the other. As the automobile came into sight, I realized that I will have to allow his hand to be free, and frowned at the thought.

"We'll definitely do this again" victor spoke and I turned to look up at him, a smile on his lips as he looked ahead. I knew he was not referring to visiting the cinema and for that I was glad.

"I would like that," I said, despite the low tone of my voice I am certain he had heard it.

....................

"did you like the movie?" victor questioned as he drove, glancing my way.

"I..."I began, lowering my gaze to the still filled popcorn. " I was distracted, I do not remember much after the opening" I admitted and he laughed, making the red of my cheeks gain in intensity.

" i feel you, my attention was in and out. But after that explosion, it went somewhere else, entirely" he confessed at his turn, leaving me to wonder if the thing that had stolen his attention was by chance my grabbing his hand.

"D...id it"

" then again, i'm not to sure i could tell you anything up until that point either. They probably always had my attention"

We arrived at my house shortly after, our drive that should have been filled with comments and critiques of the film, was replaced with laughter and hidden glances, as well as plans for future outings. We came to a stop before the porch, the lights inside were out and the night quiet.

"I will be leaving then, good night," I said as I exited the vehicle. The drivers' side opening as the passengers shut.

"I'll walk you" he offered and I looked from where we stood to the house, the distance hardly enough to need a light source, much less an escort. I needn't ask, as I looked in his direction and he gave an answer.

"I'll take every second I can get" he shrugs.

I said nothing as we crossed the short distance, up the stairs and to the entrance.

" hanging out in the daylight is definitely better." Victor suddenly proclaims.

" how so?"

"I get to see you longer"I could find nothing to say, facing his kind smile I found it difficult to think.
