"Are you okay?"

2D grinned up at Ace. He laid flat on his back, a bump rising on his head. Ace was standing over the star struck star, wondering if his grin meant he'd gone south.

"Yeah, mate. I'm all good," 2D sat up and Ace extended a hand, helping him up. 2D leaned forward, invading Ace's space. "Thanks! You really are tha' best! You've gotta be the nicest person on the planet!"

Ace inched back, unsure if it was 2D's unstable personality, overbearing compliments, or his lack of boundaries that was weirding him out. Sure, it was nice to be appreciated, but this much gratitude? It set off alarm bells in his head.

"Nah man, I'm just bein' human," Ace shrugged the good deed off like an unwanted jacket.

"No way! Nobody's ever just been nice for no reason. But you are. I like it. We're friends, yeah? Maybe even best mates!" 2D turns his body like he's going to leave, "We should go to tha' pub or- Oh wait! You don't drink, huh? Well, maybe we could get something to eat. I like pineapple and peanut butter sandwiches, but nobody else does. What do you..."

Ace leans back on his heels, watching as 2D decides to go to a little sandwich shop a few streets over. He looks genuine and excited. Like he's never had a friend before. It dawns on Ace that 2D doesn't have a lot of normalcy in his life. Car crashes, world tours, paparazzi, and so much more. And with Murdoc in his life, he hasn't had a lot of peace. So he decides that he'd give this guy a shot. And maybe he should equally as loving.

Ace lit up a smoke. He takes a drag and watches as 2D wanders off. He smiles to himself and says softly, "You're too good for this world, Stu."
