"... Alright (f/n). I think you'll be fine to go out now." Mine said, looking at my injuries across my body. They had mostly healed over and they hurt a lot less. "Najenda was saving one for us. So you had better be thankful, ok?"
I nodded and blinked a few times as I got out of bed. I reached my hand out, looking down on it. "By my soul and my spirit, I summon thee in full..." I muttered. My blades materialized in my hands, fully powered up. "Right... I think I'm good to go." I said, letting the weapons fade back away. Mine nodded as we walked out of my room together.

It had been about two days since Mine agreed to take me on her next mission. She was patiently waiting for me to recover, refusing to let me go unless she thought I was in a good enough shape.  In the meantime, she had been nursing me back to health. I assume that it was because she felt bad about not being able to help.
But now thanks to her, I'm able to return to missions.
What we had today was an assassination mission. Supposedly it was a government official who was abusing a drug line. Mine already had her rifle on her back and we were both wearing our cloaks as we walked out.

We made it to town relatively fast. The place the official was living was only about an hours walk away from the base. That meant that he must've been living in the edge of town, where it would be easy to contact any less-than trustworthy individuals.
We spotted his base rather easily. It was a large building with double doors at the front. There was a nameplate adorned in gold next to the door. "Agachio".
"His last name is weird..." I commented as I stared at his nameplate.
"I suppose so. Not like it matters much." She said. "But now we know where the building is. We're gonna be striking at night, so we'll need to give it a few hours."
"Right. Then we can hang out for a bit right?" I asked.
"W-Well, I suppose we can." Mine said, hiding her slight embarrassment very well. "Today we can go get ice cream. It'll be my treat." She said.
This offer surprised me. My face of mild shock turned back to my default emotionless face. "Sure. Sounds good." I said as the two of us started walking into town.

The town itself was full and bustling. It's certain that not everyone was happy with how much that this "Agachio" guy was acting up. But there were still many smiles on the citizens' faces.
The two of us found a small ice cream stand on the side of the road. We walked up to it and ordered two cones. And as promised, Mine paid for it.
We both started walking along the street. I watched Mine gently lick her ice cream cone. I couldn't help but find it just a bit cute.
I stopped staring at her and took a lick of my own scoop. "... It's pretty good..." I said as I continued eating. "Thanks for the treat."
Mine glanced over to me for a moment, but I couldn't see it under her hood. "Of course. You had better be grateful!" She said, her tone a bit smug.
I nodded a bit, "Sure. If you ever need anything, let me know."
Mine smiled, "Sure. Sounds good to me."
After that, the two of us had a moment of peace while we quietly ate our ice cream.

Then, it was night. The two of us had already prepared and I was positioned behind a bush next to Agachio's house. We had a plan in mind for raiding it. The outside of the house wasn't guarded, and the inside supposedly only had a few maids. Unfortunately, it would be a poor idea to barge in through the front, as the maids themselves could create a bit of a commotion.
Our idea would be executed as they saw a shady man go up to the back door. There, a maid opened it and greeted him.
Luckily, the bush I was in was very close to the door. So as I jumped out, it would be too late for anyone to scream before they were killed.
While my blades were strong, they also didn't work against any living things, save for organism type imperial arms. This worked in my favor most of the time, letting me slice skin without incident. But there are moments where I'd be interested to see what happens.
Another maid came down the stairs, but I used my blade of creation to launch a piece of rock out at her. It quickly knocked her out.
We were at a bit of a deficit, as stealth was a slight priority. This meant that Mine wouldn't be able to fire her weapon. That was why she was positioned further away. She had her weapon trained on a window high up. She would be more of a backup in case I failed. Optimally, this mission would go off with no one noticing the man was dead until we were already gone.
I rushed up the stairs of the house and found the man that was our target, standing in his room. Unfortunately, in my rush, he ended up spotting me. He let out a shriek that was less than befitting of a man. In the next moment, I was upon him. I had already killed him and our mission was done.
I let out a breath as I finally relaxed a little. Then, I saw something that caught my eye on his desk. It was an image of a man that was quite familiar to me. It was the same man with blonde hair and green eyes that had almost killed me. I picked up the paper, somewhat curious as to what could be on it.
My eyes first picked up on the name. It was Benjamin Morrow. I scratched my head, wondering why this man would have a document like this. It was sitting on top of a yellow file. I felt that it could be important. As a result, I grabbed it and slipped it inside of my cloak.
I used my sword of destruction to silently absorb a piece of the wall and jump out of it. I looked up at Mine and nodded, signaling that it was time for us to go. With that, the two of us dashed back to base in complete silence.
