"Thank you for the food..." I said as I finished up my meal. I picked up my dish and took it to the sink to wash. But unexpectedly, Mine took it from me instead.
"This is for what you did earlier..." she said quietly as she walked by. She had a blush on her face as she went to the sink to wash her dishes and mine. It took me just a moment to process what had just happened, but I soon realized that she was doing this because I helped turn around her outlook on the mission. For just a moment, a singular, small moment that lasted less than a second, I felt happy. I sighed as the happiness quickly faded away and quietly started to go to my room. But I was stopped before I could go.
"Ah. (F/n). Stay here a bit. After we finish up our meals, we're gonna discuss new missions." Najenda said as she kept eating her food. I nodded and went back to my seat.
"Missions? Is it about the guy we encountered last time?" Tatsumi asked.
"We'll talk about that during our meeting. For now, just enjoy your food." She said as she took a mouthful of food. I blinked a bit as I fully processed the information and sat back down at my seat.
After we had eaten our food and washed the dishes. We went to stand around the chair that Najenda used for important matters. She looked like she had a lot to say as we all began to stand around her. As I stood and waited, Mine came and decided to stand next to me.
"Mine...?" I quietly asked.
"What is it? I simply chose a place to stand." Maybe she just thought I was dense, but she spoke as if she thought I didn't know she stood by me on purpose. It slightly irked me as I gave it some thought, but I was able to wave it off.
"So. I have some important things to talk about. First of all, I want to ask something of (f/n)." She said as she gestured her hand out to me. I pointed to myself and tilted my head to have her confirm that she was pointing to me. She gave a nod before continuing. "If I could ask, what is your imperial arm's trump card? Each of our arms have trump cards to them. So what's yours? If you know it that is."
"Ah... so that's it." I murmured. "Well, it actually has two trump cards. One for each sword." The group around me seemed to gasp a bit to themselves with surprised looks on my face. I ignored it, as it was the response I more or less expected after I had these talks.
"The first trump card is arms absorption. It takes another imperial arms and lets me apply its abilities to my sword. However, they get slightly weakened in the process. Not to mention that it won't work for certain imperial arms depending on their powers. So like, if I used it on Akame's one hit kill sword, it would probably do something like let me swords have a poison in them. It wouldn't be fatal, but it would come close to it. Ah... but it does look put my sword of destruction out of commission for about 2 days."
"... What the heck man. You're outdoing us..." I heard Lubbock mutter. "And you said you have two trump cards? Just what the hell are your imperial arms?"
"Y-yeah... my other imperial arms is one that I think is a bit more useful. It's resurrection."
There was a small moment of pause among the people around us, including myself. They stared at me in disbelief. But I saw one expression that I didn't expect. It was hope.
I saw hope as I looked at Tatsumi. 'Maybe he's lost someone in the past...' I thought to myself. But I kept on explaining nonetheless.
"It's... really limited resurrection. From what I've heard, each user can only do it once in their lifetime. The reason is that... well, have you guys ever heard of familiars?" I asked.
I saw Najenda nod to herself. "I've heard tales of them. They're spirits that usually take the form of an animal, but can have other forms. They're attached to their 'master' and in stories are linked by magical energy. Why do you ask?"
"Well, when someone dies, I can turn them into my familiar." I said as I rubbed the back of my neck.
Everyone's eyes widened once again. And Tatsumi seemed to get even more excited.
"Hey! (F/n)! Can you help me?" He asked excitedly. "I need you to revive someone for me." The response I gave was quick, clear, and concise. I said it without hesitation to his expected and predictable question.
"No." I said promptly and upfront. "I'm not gonna waste it on someone I don't know." I said, with a bit of a harsh tone.
Tatsumi seemed to choke up on something. "B-but.... if you can, why not do it?" He asked, getting a bit desperate.
"It's a waste. Besides, I rarely ever use this ability. If someone dies, it just means they were weaker than whatever tried to kill them." I said. "The only time I've ever used it is on myself. And even that, I was hesitant about."
"You can use it on yourself? Doesn't that make you immortal?" Sheele asked.
"Well, I could. But every time that I use it, what it does is it takes a part of my soul. That's why it's risky to use it on yourself. When you use it on someone else, the part of your soul goes to that person. On the other hand, if you use it on yourself, what happens is you get part of your soul and humanity taken." I pointed to myself after I had said that. "It's that reason that I am the way I am now. I've been alive for a total of about 150 years. But I lost track not too long ago."
All anyone could do was stare in awe. And it made sense. My imperial arms seemingly broke the set rules of these amazing weapons, and even went against death itself.
"I guess that's why the emperor isn't alive today..." Najenda said with a mumble. "Well, this has been quite the busy meeting so far. But we do have a mission to discuss. So why don't we move on?"
"Y-yeah... lets..." Leone said, showing a rare sign of hesitation as she still processed the information she had received. And everyone else was in the same state. Still trying to process the intense amount of information that was received. But we still had things to discuss. And I couldn't wait to see what we'd be planning to do with the target...
