"Here," smiled Heartstorm, dropping the mouse by Silverdrop. He settled down beside her.
"How was training?" she asked.
"Great," Heartstorm said. "I'm giving half the day off today. He did very well yesterday."
"What did Sparkbelly think?" asked Silverdrop.
"He was actually open for another training," Heartstorm said. "He said the loser would have to hunt for the elders for the winner. But Hawkpaw said he wanted to feed the elders. He's going to be a great warrior one day, I know he will."
"That is very noble," agreed Silverdrop. "You know, about what you told me about the Gathering." Heartstorm nudged the mouse to her.
"Eat," he said. She took a bite then pushed it to Heartstorm. He took a small nibble and pushed it back to her.
"I think we should not take what Cinderstar said lightly," Silverdrop said.
"But we can't take her seriously. I mean, you should have seen her!" Heartstorm explained. "She looked crazy. Like she hadn't slept for days. She could not have been thinking straight."
"But from what everybody is saying, she only looked crazy, that doesn't mean she wasn't thinking right," Silverdrop put in.
"Look, I know her... well I knew her. And she's changed a lot. She used to be so wise and understanding but... now she's different. And honestly, ShadowClan is a joke," Heartstorm said. "They can't just threaten us at every Gathering. They did it last time, and they didn't do anything."
"From what I heard, last time, they didn't threaten you. They warned you," Silverdrop pointed out.
"Look, just don't get all worked up. Here- eat," Heartstorm said, sliding the half eaten mouse to Silverdrop. She sighed but took a bite.
"Heartstorm listen," Silverdrop said finally. "Just be careful. Something is happening to ShadowClan. Maybe Cinderstar is part of it. Maybe she isn't... We don't know. So just be careful."
"We don't even share the same border," Heartstorm said in exasperation then at Silverdrop's look, "fine. Fine, I'll be careful."
"Blizzardkit...," Silverdrop added.
"Is just a kit," finished Heartstorm. "I'll be careful alright?" Silverdrop nodded. "Here finish, the rest of the mouse." Silveddrop gobbled the rest of the mouse.
"Do you want to go for a walk?" suggested Heartstorm.
"Sure," shrugged Silverdrop. They got up and headed for the camp entrance. The slipped under the tunnel and out of camp, a gentle breeze ruffling their fur. The air was still and calm. Birds chirped and the sun shone brightly. It was a beautiful day.
"So, about those kits," Heartstorm said. Silverdrop laughed.
"Say, we did have kits," Silverdrop said. "What would you want to call them?"
"If it's a she-cat..., Brightkit," Heartstorm said. "In honour, of my mother." Silverdrop nodded.
"And if it's a tom?" asked Silverdrop. "Hopefully not naming him after your father." Heartstorm laughed.
