Cory's POV

Me and Uni are the only ones left in the base and it kinda sucks I mean I have to do a lot of the work ,but I guess it's ok at least I'm not alone.

Uni's still sleeping when I went on patrol. I came back to check on him and he had a worried expression.

"You ok Uni?" I ask he jumped a bit not noticing I walked in.

"Where were you!?" He asked/screamed at me.

"I was just doing patrols jeez calm down." I tell him.

"Calm down? No I won't "calm down" you could of died and I don't want to be left alone you could have at least woke me up and told me where you were going!" He told me.

I felt bad now like really bad now "I'm sorry I didn't think about that." I told him I was looking down at this point.

He sighed "it's ok I guess just wake me up next time anyways what do you want to do?" He asked.

I thought for a moment "We could play cards." I suggested

"Sounds good to me." Uni replied agreeing with me.

We headed to the cafeteria were we had the cards at and started playing.

We were almost to the end of the game and Uni was quiet it was a bit unsettling so maybe this is the time to confess. Oh! Did I forget to mention my small crush toward Uni oh well you know now sorry readers (don't break the forth wall we don't have the money to fix it) sorry anyway ignoring that I get up and sit next to Uni he looks up at me a bit confused.

"Hey Uni if I hypothetically said that I liked/loved you what would you say, hypothetically."I asked this is a terrible way to find out ,but oh well I already did it.

"Well "hypothetically " I would say that I like/love you too."he said a bit confused.

It was quiet for a little bit you could probably hear the walkers that are at the fence ,but then I broke the silence.
"Hey Uni." He looked at me.
"Yes Cory, what is it?" He asked me
"I-I love you." I said out of the blue. He then smiled at me.
"I love you too"he said as he hugged me.
I somehow ended up curled up next to him with his arm around me and the most unexpected thing hit me I felt tears come out of my lens all my friends are dead the only person I love and care about is holding me I miss everyone.
"Uni I-I miss e-everyone else" I said my voice cracking between some words as I felt the tears start falling from my lens. Uni sighs
"I do too." He said then he smiled at me softly.
"But at least we have each other." He said which made me smile.
"Yeah at least we have each other." I repeated as I slowly drifted asleep in his arms.
