it's not that simple

hanna's pov

"come back to rosewood" i tell her. i miss her too much. she sighs at me and rolls her eyes.
"it's not that simple baby."
"yes it is em. you just pack your bags and stay with me for a month. i miss you."
"hanna. we can survive this. i know we can."
"but what if we can't emily? i miss you and it kills me not seeing you everyday. i miss kissing you and i miss hugging you and i miss taking to you in real life. i miss you at school, i shopping with you, even though you hate it. i miss going to your swim meets. i miss you so much emily!" i shout, i sound mad but i don't mean to upset her.
"hanna-" she says as if she's about to try and calm me down. i don't want to be calmed down.
"no emily. i have to go to school." i yell and quickly hang up the call.

arias pov

spencer and i are at the back of the library making out when all of a sudden i hear a coughing noise. someone interrupting us.

"oh, ahhaha, heyyy mona, hey mike..." i say awkwardly. fuck. this is not good. mike. fuck. what's he gonna think? i stand there awkwardly. i'll talk to him about it later.
"why are you guys here? we're busy." spencer whines.
"well me and mike were just about to do the same thing but i guess not."
"come on babe, we'll just go somewhere else." mike grabs mona's hand and they run off.
okay.. maybe they're cute.

alison's pov

"hanna! wait up" i shout across the corridor.
"yes alison?!" she snaps at me.
"wowowowow, whats with the attitude?"
"nothing, okay? i just had a bad morning."
she starts to break down in front of me in the middle of the hallway.
"babe, tell me what's going on."
"i don't want to bother you with my issues right now alison."
"okay how about this." i say and grab her chin with my thumb, lifting her head up so she's looking a me in the eye.
"if i tell you a secret of mine.. will you tell me what's up with you?"
"okay"
"you can't tell anyone. because it's important. but i need to get it off my chest. and for some weird, weird reason, you're the only one i seem to trust right now."
"you can tell me. i promise i won't tell anyone ali." the fact that she called me ali makes me believe her. it's the first time she's did it and i already feel closer to her.
"well, there's this person.. that i.. really, really love. but they have a boyfriend. i love her so much and i'm so glad she's happy. but i'm so in love with her." i look down at the floor extremely embarrassed.
"is the person mona?" she asks me.
i immediately raise my head up looking at her dead in the eye.
"how-how did you know?"
"it's not like it isn't obvious. and i know she has a boyfriend, but i see it too. i can see you two together. you should tell her ali."
"i think she hates me.."
"hates you?! she adores you!"
"you think?" i question her response
"i know it." she lets out a brief smile.
"come on han, let's get to class, you can vent to me about all your problems" i tell her and we walk away.
