I got to the school a few minutes late Friday morning. When I walked into class everyone stared at me and my face burned with embarrassment. The day went by like any other Friday, slow and long. It seemed like two years before lunch.
I was enjoying my garden peas and watching Trixie stare at her brother when she swung her head around with a large smile on her face.
"Come over this weekend," She demanded with a smile.
I freaked out a little knowing Tobias would be there and almost choked on my garden peas, "What? Why?" I practically screamed while coughing. I had never spent the night at her house because I didn't want to have the opportunity to have a conversation with Tobias Lancaster. I would always ask Trix to come to my house, and she always did.
She looked at me with confusion when I realized how rude that sounded, "I mean, why don't you just come to my house like you always do?"
"Because that's what I always do. C'mon, please," She poked out her bottom lip, "I want you to meet my parents," She paused, "and my brother." She smiled and added a wink.
"Um, I don't know about that." I giggled.
"Why not? I know you like my brother, everybody does." She looked serious.
"Not me." I laughed and took a bite of peas.
"Don't even lie to me." She hit my shoulder lightly.
I looked at her with total seriousness, "I'm telling you the truth."
"Fine, but I am forcing you to come, okay? You can't say no." She smiled.
"Okay." I said turning my head and taking a bite of peas.
"Good." She laughed.
Nathan started laughing hysterically, "And the award for most persuasive goes to, Trixie!"
When we left lunch, just like everyday, we hugged each other and went back to class. For the rest of the day I was trying to think of every way I could avoid Tobias, or at least how for him not to notice me, but I'm sure that won't be a hard task.
When it was time to go, Trixie told me just to follow her over to her car for a minute, which wasn't a big deal since she was only a few rows over from me. I was following her while looking down at my phone texting my mom telling her what was happening.
I didn't realize what was happening in front of me even though I heard his voice.
"What do you want?" He asked in annoyance.
"Just wanted to let you know that Sage is coming over for the weekend." Trixie said with a smile, I could hear it in her voice.
I looked up from my phone right when he looked at me, our eyes meeting each other's.
