Fault in my Stars

Two weeks were left for our first semester exam. Many students were rushing library for studying or taking books, just like them whenever there is off lecture I also started going to library for studying.

It was a Monday and I was already missing our singing club. So my legs instinctively headed towards singing club building. As I expected the hall was empty. I saw imaginary crowd gathered around to hear my show, and I sang my favourite song "shape of you..."

I was so engrossed in singing that song, feeling it's lyrics dancing on my tongue. I was totally enjoying my unplugged voice when suddenly I heard sound of guitar.

My eyes shot open with sudden enlightenment. Two pair of eyes stared at my baffled face before I could say something he clapped his hands, his face holding admiration for my song.

"You are gifted with AMAZING voice." Barry exclaimed ignoring my shocked status.

"Thanks." I muttered shyly.

For some time I couldn't understand whether he was real or my lonely mind began to hallucinating.

"You can play guitar?" I asked to make sure he was really there and I haven't been hallucinating.

"A Little bit. I haven't done any professional guitar classes. My cousin taught me but I couldn't learn it well. Seeing you singing my favourite song, I thought to join you. I am sorry, if I ruined your rehearsal." He said putting down guitar back to its place.

"No, I don't think you have ruined anything." I assured with smile.

"Can I call you Jessi just like your other friends Emma and Cisco?" He asked after a minute silence.

"So you know my name already and you know my friends names as well, are you stalking on me?" Idiot, that's pretty rude to talk with your crush. My mind snapped at me.

"No, I am not, trust me. I can explain to you, can we have coffee together?" He asked me with nervous smile which took me off guard.

I wasn't prepared for this kind of situation. He ignored my presence then I too stopped myself from crushing on him. All this continued about 4 months and suddenly this thing is happening. What do I do now?

I wanted to say, 'I can't... I am busy.' Damn my egoistic head.

This is what you wanted stupid girl. Don't waste this chance. My heart said eagerly, jumping in joy.

"Yeah, we can." after much contemplation, I gave him my consent.
