The second Jin opened the door, he pulled both boys into his arms "I'm so happy for you both! I knew it! I knew it!"

Namjoon pulled Jungkook into the living room as Jimin stood talking to Jin in the hallway

"I know how you've felt about him, Kook. You should have told me that the two of you were together. I've been waiting for it ever since you told me that Jimin was the one you would marry"

Jungkook panicked seeing Jimin walking into the living room with Jin, afraid Jimin might have heard Namjoon or worse his hyung telling Jimin exactly how he felt about the smaller "So Jin hyung, Is there something I can do to help? Jimin and I will set the table..."

Jin shoves them away when they try to help him "Go relax, you are our guests" Jin and Namjoon smile at them fondly making Jungkook frown before Jimin pulls him into the living room

"Relax..." Jimin whispers

"You know hyung was just exaggerating things right? I don't .."

"I know, Jungkook."

Of course he knew.

Jungkook sighs, he shouldn't have agreed to Jimin's plan. There was a fine line between acting in love that his brother was going to buy it and not crossing a line and ruining the friendship he always tried to protect.

Jin and Namjoon soon walk in carrying the food

"So tell me..." Jin says taking a sip of his wine "How did this all happen? You didn't just get drunk one night and decide to do this, did you?"

Jungkook choked on his dinner as Jimin smiles softly "Of course not! It is sudden, but it's totally and completely not fake."

"Jimin!" Jungkook groaned, dropping his head into his hands, utterly convinced that they were going to get caught

"Hey... totally and completely not fake." Jimin squeezes his hand and leans in to softly peck the taller's lips

"Totally." Jungkook whispered, and something in Namjoon's expression softened

Jungkook couldn't stop the stupid grin on his face watching Jimin talk to his family. It wasn't an act and Jungkook was so lost in what could be that he missed his brother's question.

"Huh?"

"I said, when are you going to have the ceremony?"

Jimin's quick to answer "Next month."

Jungkook choked again - God, Jimin will literally be the death of him tonight

"Everything's already set and paid for. Besides we've known each other our whole lives so it's not like we're rushing into anything. right?"

Jin claps his hands excitedly "That's so great! I'll call your cousins and let them know that we're back on. I know everyone in the family was already planning on coming."

Jungkook watched as Jimin and Jin discussed wedding ideas – how he wished this was real

He was quiet for most of the conversation but when Jimin tries to steal the steak he cut a second time, he chuckles

"You are so lucky you are cute..."

It's been a while since he genuinely laughed and it felt good. Maybe it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to be in love with his best friend.

It was only the worst thing in the world knowing Jimin wasn't in love with him too.

Somehow, they made it through dinner and were shooed to the living room while Jin and Namjoon took care of the dishes. Jungkook flopped on the couch with a tired sigh

"I think that went well, bunny. We're totally awesome at this. I didn't realize your hyung would be so into it, but I am kind of an awesome catch."

Jungkook had to admit, his hyung seemed ecstatic for him, and he couldn't remember the last time he'd been so happy. After Yugyeom, he'd been so worried. He couldn't put him through that again, not after lying to him this much, it would crush him. "Don't call me that"

"What ya gonna do about it..bunny?" Jimin smirks

Jungkook pounced on Jimin, tickling him to the core. At one point in the struggle, Jungkook had his fingers under Jimin's shirt, Jin and Namjoon re entering the living room to witness just that

Jin laughs as he sees the two sit up straight as if nothing happened a second ago

"Tell me..." he laughed. "How did you propose?"

"..I was upset about Yugyeom and Jimin has been spending so much time with me. I sort of blurted my feelings out... and he said yes...."

Namjoon chuckled. Of course they'd be accidentally engaged, it sounded like something they would do "You two take care of each other, it's what you both do best."

"Yeah." Jungkook's voice was soft and he turned those dark brown eyes on Jimin who gulped "We will."

After dinner

"... maybe I should spend the night" Jimin says as they walk back home "...we are getting married after all."

Jungkook should have said no, it would be smart to assume Jimin was just teasing like always. There wasn't any reason to keep pretending when they were alone

"...I dunno, if you wanted to grab the couch or something, I wouldn't say no."

".. I think you mean the bed.."

Later

They talked for a while in bed before Jimin drifted off, Jungkook knew it was not fair to Jimin to use him like this but watching Jimin snuggle into him, he wanted nothing more than to forget all the worries in the world and enjoy the warmth next to him
