Chapter Six

When we got to the palace, the guards took the girl to the infirmary. She was passed out and the nurse didn't know when she would wake up. Her arm had been shot and her ankle was sprained.

I was going to talk to her when she woke up and find out what happened. But right now I had to get ready for the second round of boys. I hope no more are like Caiden.

Nicky picked out a short, curvy green dress for Ali. Nicky has learned her style. For me she picked out a beautiful pink dress with white lace sleeves. It went perfectly with my blonde hair. Nicky was still giving me weird looks but she defiantly picked out good dresses.

"Ali! Are you almost ready in there!" I yelled at the bathroom door. Ali had been in there for an hour. "Coming!" Ali yelled back. She stepped out with a face full of makeup on. "Come on, we are going to be late."

We headed down to the same ceremony we did with Gavril yesterday but with four different boys. Today it was Mr. Hideous, Samuel Lee, who was also Asian. Then A guy named Luke Harrison, Nathan Gate, and Ryan Woods.

Then I started meeting them all. To save you the harsh details of meeting Samuel, I'll just tell you it was horrible. I don't want to sound mean but I was not interested. I know looks don't matter but when you look like him I'm sorry, no. He had super crooked teeth and beady little eyes, I mean he looked like a witch.

Nathan and Ryan were pretty average. They were nice, but not too funny. Not really boring, just average. Luke was pretty cool, he was easy going and just fun to be around. I kinda liked him.

After all the boys had gone back to the Men's Room I went to check on the girl we found in the woods. Surprisingly she was awake. I walked up to her. "Hi, my name is Riley." The girl looked at me tiredly. "Hi my name is Suzie, I don't want to be here and don't think we will be friends, I ran into the wrong people and got shot. Thanks for helping me but as soon as this stupid nurse let's me go, I'm leaving." She said and turned away from me.

I was shocked at how she said that. She was so mean about it, but if she didn't like me, I didn't like her. "Ok, Suzie. Here's how it's going to go, you are going to sit in that bed until the nurse releases you and your going to like it and not complain. Understand?" before she had time to answer I said "Good, glad you agree, goodbye."

I turned around and left. Leaving Suzie looking really peeved. After that I went straight to my room to sleep, Ali was already there snoring like a hippo. I got into my silk pajamas and drifted off to sleep.

The next two days went by in a blur. I met the rest of the guys, none too bad. There was a Japanese guy named Kozue Hiyama. He was very polite. And Danny Carmichael, the one with a lot of freckles was really funny.

Then on the last day I met the hottie, Drake Fredrickson. But our meeting went a little...off course.

"Hello Drake, I'm Riley." I introduced myself. "I know who you are, princess. I signed up to marry you." For some reason that smart ass comment made me a little mad. "That's true." I replied, still trying to be polite. "Well it's pretty obvious I would know who you are, being a princess and all. But I can see how the palace teachers could teach you to be a prissy rich girl instead of anything close to smart." he said, acting like that was at all ok to say.

I got really mad then. I looked him right in the eye and said "For your information, I am smart." Then I got up, walked around the table to him and said "And I'm certainly not prissy." with that I punched him square in the nose. He looked shocked and grabbed his nose, which was bleeding, a lot. All I did was walk out of the room with a smile on my face.  I wouldn't be kicking Drake out now, but probably right when we got back to Shiro.

The day after I met Drake was our last day in Illea. In the morning I went down to the Men's Room in my leggings, sweater, and boots for the plane ride. I stopped outside the door. You could hear the laughter in the room. I was happy that all the guys were getting along.

I nocked on the door. "I got it!" yelled a cheerful voice. Danny opened the door. He was still smiling as he let me in the room and bowed. All the guys bowed. Their lessons were paying off.

"This is our last day in Illea so grab your bags and get on the plane that your lesson teacher, Lyle is by." See you all in Shiro. As I was leaving Drake caught my eye. He was standing by Luke, a guy I had decided I liked. His nose was bandaged and him and Luke were laughing together. I was confused why would Luke be laughing with Drake?

I didn't know but I looked away and left. Me, Ali, and my parents got on a separate plane then the boys when everyone was on both planes we took off, headed for Shiro.
