The Sound of Sirens

Letter

Hongbin sat back on his chair, a chill flowing down his spine.

" That's why we need your help. We gotta catch these guys before they kill more people."

Hyuk simply shrugged.

"And what? You think Seoul will be safe again? That'd you'll be the cop who saved us all?"

He laughed, crossing his arms and legs. The detective sighed. His job is to protect people. Does he really have no other choice?

" Look kiddo, I'm not asking for your opinion, but your collaboration. Either you help me or I'll just lock you up."

Hongbin placed his elbows on the table, his piercing gaze on Hyuk. For the first time since the interrogation began, the youngest's face showed concern. He was already caught. They had evidence of him doing illegal work for the infamous gang. Before he could proceed, a knock at the door interrupted. The detective got up and excused himself. One of the trainees greeted him with an envelope. Hongbin raised an eyebrow. Paperwork? On a friday? He turned to his suspect, who immediately rose from his chair and stood against the wall, his eyes glowing with fear.

" Oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no "

He muttered to himself, faning himself in a vain attempt to calm down.

" What? It's just an envelope kid. Probably my boss who wants me to do some dumb paperwork. " he laughed, but it quickly fade as Hyuk remained in his position.

"It's-It's them. They know... They know I'm here. Oh God, Oh God." He threw himself in the arms of the detective and despite his quite tall figure, he really was a young boy who was terrified. Hongbin opened the letter and a small piece of paper fell in his palm. He opened it and read as follow:

Dear detective Lee,

You have been unfairly keeping our precious Sanghyuk in your interrogation room for many hours. It is time he comes home now. A car will be waiting for the both of you outside. If you fail to show up or deliver the boy to us, we will be forced to use unpleasant ways.
