"What the hell" Chrone mumbled as she searched the empty grocery store. Panicked, she headed towards the back where she hoped she would find any sort of supplies for herself, and now, everyone else living with her. She grumbled to herself as she walked, wondering why she ever agreed to let them stay.

Making it to the back of the store, she searched any and all obviously empty boxes in hopes of finding anything, even if it was something as simple as a paper clip. She'd find good use of it somehow.

She held back a frustrated groan in fear of any infected hearing. She had failed to find anything in the back storage. The place had been ransacked, shelves fallen onto their sides, busted and dented boxes. Broken pieces of glass on the floor. The girl had ran out of hope as she realized it very well may be longer than a 3 day trip if things kept going the way they were.

She didn't necessarily like the idea of traveling so far away from her home. Especially if Tech and Henri were going to be staying in it alone. The idea made her cringe. Not to mention the obvious crush Tech had on Ethan. Traveling with him made things all the more worse as she realized she would be dealing with Tech's attitude when she got back. She found her head had started to ache thinking about all of this at once.

Shaking the thoughts from her head she left the store in search for Ethan. There were only 3 general supply shops in the small-ish town. The rest had been grocery stores, gas stations and restaurants filled with food that had either rotted or been hijacked.

Ethan has to have been searching one now, may as well search the last together. Plus it was at the other end of town, so they were both headed in the same direction whether they found anything or not.

The town looked like an abandoned ghost town. Oddly enough there weren't any cars that looked recked, or parked in the middle of the street. Every once and a while a tumbleweed blew by, cliché as it sounds. The only main difference was the sight of infected every once and a while.

Sighing, she made her way to the next closest general store. Upon entering she found Ethan searching through more empty boxes as well. Seems they may have to travel farther than she intended, much to her dismay.

"Didn't find anything either huh?"

His head bolted up and his eyes darted in her direction, slightly startled by her unexpected question.

"Ah..." he scratched the back of his neck nervously, as if he was embarrassed, before finishing his sentence. "No."

"Did you check the back too?" She had asked, to make sure he was being thorough.

"Yeah...nothing but empty cardboard boxes." He sounded almost ashamed, although it wasn't his fault. She understood why he would be upset though. Especially if he relied on this as much as she did.

"Well, there is one more general store at the end of town. We can go check there." She said as she began to make her way out of the store. Ethan followed, replying to her previous statement.

"And what if nothing is there?" He asked, unhopeful. By this time they were in the middle of the worn out road, the yellow lines barely visible.

"Then I guess we have to go even further then don't we?" Chrone shrugged. Of course they expected nothing to be there, whoever hijacked this place had took and ran as fast as they could, as if they were afraid of being caught doing a crime in this empty world. At least that's what she assumed. Of course she would do the same, seeing as so many people only looked out for themselves. The selfishness of people is what caused so much chaos at the beginning of this powerful epidemic. The selfish killed and took, while the selfless stayed and let nature take its course.
