For the next two hours, Alec and I ran around the castle with Coran trying to fix everything possible before the teams return. Keith stayed in the control room with Allura in case she located the red lion. We had just returned to the control room from repairing a few of the healing pods when Shiro and Pidge walk in, "Mission accomplished," Pidge says happily.
I grin, "Nice job Pidge! That makes three lions ready to fight."
"Yes, and I have finally located the red lion," Allura starts only to be interrupted by the door opening.
Lance and Hunk walk-in groaning, "You made it!" Allura says relieved.
"Barely. I almost puked. I felt like Hunk!" Lance exclaims.
Hunk looks at him, "How do you think I felt, I am Hunk."
I can't help but laugh, "So according to Pidge, before this mission you'd thrown up five times today. Did you make it six?"
Hunk shakes his head, "No but I thought I was going to." That makes me laugh some more and he joins me.
Pidge looks up at Shiro with a knowing grin, "Yeah, we had trouble with the green lion too."
"So, Allura, you were saying that you've found the red lion?" Shiro asks after returning Pidges smirk.
"There's a bit of good news and bad news," says Coran turning away from the holograph, "The good news is the red lion is near. The bad news is it's aboard that Garla ship heading to Arus. Good news again is we're Arus so it's coming to us."
"They're here already!?" Shiro exclaims.
Coran looked embarrassed, "Yes, I guess my calculations were a bit off. Finger counting is more of an art than a science." I facepalm and force down a groan.
The holographic screens begin to glitch and an image of a Garla general appears, I freeze because I recognize this particular Galra. "Princess Allura, this is commander Sendak of the Garla empire. I come on behalf of Emperor Zarkon. I am here to take the lions. Turn them over to me or I will destroy your planet." Then the image vanishes.
I sink to my knees, terrified because I had had run-ins with Sendak before and I wasn't eager for a repeat. "V? V! Hey, hey, calm down. It won't be like last time," Alec comforts me kneeling next to me and hugging me.
"What's wrong?" Shiro asks.
Alec looks up at the other Paladins, "When Zarkon first tried to take Animaria he had a village attacked to prove his power. While it didn't convince our planets leaders to surrender it took the lives of the entire town. Tori's parents among them. Sendak was the one who led that attack."
Shiro sighs, "Either way we need to try not to panic."
Hunk stares at him, "Not panic?! A scary purple alien thing is driving his battleship right at us, we only have five working lions..."
"Technically only four, with the black one still locked up," Pidge pipes up.
"Thank you, Pidge. Four working lions and a castle that is 10,000 years old..." Hunk continues only to be interrupted again.
"Actually 10,600, you see it was built by my grandfather," Coran says.
"Thanks, Coran," Hunk says then turns back to Shiro, "I'd say now is the perfect time to panic!"
"Wait, this castle has a particle barrier we can utilize," Allure says, trying to calm Hunk down.
"Girl you can activate my par—," Lance starts.
