"Okay guys, Sendak is almost completely hooked up," Coran reports.
We're all standing in the holding bay, except for Allura, who's resting after the adventures on the Balmera. We had decided to try and use the Altean technology used to save the memories of a person in the castle's systems to try and get information out of Sendak.
"I have to warn you guys, this technology was meant to keep Altean memories alive, not interrogate prisoners," Coran cautions as he finishes hooking up the Galra general.
"Coran, we understand this isn't what the technology was meant for but if we can extract Sendak's memories we can learn some valuable information about Zarkon's troop locations," Shiro replies.
"Yeah," Lance says, "We can just be like 'knock-knock. Who's there? The avenging fury of Voltron son!'"
I sigh and facepalm, "Lance, we are nowhere near strong enough to do something like that yet." Keith nods in agreement.
Lance glares at me, probably upset that I burst his ignorant bubble, but isn't given the chance to reply because Pidge asks, "So how does this work?"
"As the memories are extracted they are written bit by bit in individual molecules of the microstorage strands," Coran explains.
I raise an eyebrow and glance around. Pidge seems to be the only one who understood any of that and even she looks slightly confused. "When I go I want all the stuff in my brain to be stored in a big ship," Lance says wistfully. I facepalm and shake my head.
"The amount of information in your brain could be stored on a paper airplane," Keith retorts. I bite my lip and try to keep from laughing, but start to snicker anyway.
"Oh yeah? Well, the amount of information you have Keith could be..." Lance trails off as he tries to think of a smart comeback.
"Yeah?" Keith asks, smirking.
"Uh... it's less than what I have!" Lance snaps. I snort in laughter and cover my mouth.
"Oh, good one Lance," Hunk says with a hint of sarcasm. Still covering my mouth, I try to suppress my laughter again but I can't help but laugh at how stupid their behavior was.
"You good V?" Alec asks as I try to stop laughing. I nod.
Pidge, meanwhile, was still more focused on the machines and technology. "So this is how you incorporated King Alfor's memories in the Castle of Lions?" she asks.
"Right, but it's never been used on an unwilling participant," Coran replies. He finishes programming the system and takes a step back.
The device began to glow but nothing else was happening from what I could tell.
"Uh... is this what's supposed to be happening?" Hunk asked.
"Let's give it some time," Shiro says. He looks and sounds anxious.
So we did. But nothing changed, the minutes turned into at least an hour. Hunk fell asleep standing up but fell over and woke up again. Finally, Keith got bored and left to go train. Pidge and Alec started talking about various things on Earth versus what we had on Animaria. Lance started to get bored and sat on the floor and I decided to practice making shields and moving things with my powers. Shiro was the only one who didn't move.
Pidge eventually decides to go do something else as well, "If anyone needs me I'm going to go to the lab and see if I can extract anything useful from Sendak's crystal."
Even more, time passed and Lance tried to get a game of I Spy going but after he decided to 'spy' Sendak three times Alec asked him to stop. I kept making a small cube float in the air in front of me. As I work I notice that the cube is easier to move if my body moves with it.
