Were Family CHAPTER SIXTEEN

"Alex?! Thank goodness you're here" My mother said with tears rolling down her face still holding onto my brothers hand as he lay there looking like he just got in a fight with a T-Rex.

"I came as fast as I could, how bad is it?" Alex said as she entered the room closing the door behind he

"Very bad, he is in a coma, he fractured is skull, broke his left arm, has internal bleeding, and his right lung is collapsing." Alex's mom explained gripping Nick's hand harder.

"H-He isn't going to make it is he?" Alex said as tears started to roll down her face.

"I believe there is a possible chance for him to, but he need a transplant and fast, other wise there will be no chance." Alex's mother said now one hand holding Nick's and one holding Alex's.

"I can't believe this..." Alex said as she gripped tight onto her mothers hand and dropped her head onto the bed where Nick was laying.

"Alex. Do you happen to know where his girlfriend is?"

"Knowing her probably out cheating on him right now getting wasted and forgetting about this whole night."

"Ugh that stupid girl! Why does he even stay with someone like her he deserves so much better?"

" I know mom..." 

"You should probably go back to Hope, i'm going to sleep at the hospital with him in case anything happens." 

"Okay mom please give me up dates every day and night."

"I will."

Alex walks over to her brother kissed hi on the forehead and said.

"I love you Nick please wake up and come back home."

Alex exits the room and finds Hope sitting in the hall way with her elbows in her lap and her hands palming her face and you can see the tears roll off her face down her arms."

"Hope?" Alex says calmly.

"Im so sorry Alex." Hope says while sobbing.

"For what?"

"My parents they weren't looking at the road for 5 seconds and now my dad is dead and your brother is dying." 

"Hope this is not your fault this is not any bodies fault."

"If they never took their eyes off the road my father would still be alive my mother would not be injured and your brother would not be dying."

"Hope they didn't see him. It is okay, please don't feel like it is anyone's fault."

"HOW AM I NOT SUPPOSED TO FEEL LIKE IT ISN'T SOMEONES FAULT THAT MY FATHER IS DEAD AND YOUR BABY BROTHER IS DYING ALEX PLEASE IF THERE IS A WAY TO NOT FEEL THIS PAIN I AM FEELING LET ME KNOW BECAUSE I DIDN'T INVITE IT HERE!"

"Hope..."

"Just take me home.."

"Okay..."

They leave the hospital and just as they are outside of the car Alex stops Hope for a brief moment.

"Hope, look at me." Alex says putting her hand on Hopes shoulder.

"What?" Hope says with her head down and her hair covering her face.

Alex lifts her chin up so that their eyes meet.

"Everything is going to be alright."

"How do you know?"

Alex kisses Hope while she brushed her hand through Hopes hair., and Hope smiled.

"Because you are Hope, the walking miracle and something everyone wants and needs, and if nothing was going to be alright then you would not have smiled." Alex says pulling Hope in for a long hug.

Hope rapped her arms tight around Alex and began to cry.

"I love you so much Alex!"

Alex smiled. "I love you too princess. Now let's go home."
