Chapter 32: Emotions

"Nigga are you even listening to me??"

August put his phone down and sat up looking at Chris with a dead stare on his face

"say mane, what the fuck you want me to say? She told your ass no to being a family and she had every right to tell you no after everything you put her through"

"It's not that she told me no bro. It's that she told me she was interested in someone else. Someone that she constantly told me was just a friend."

"Friendships turn into relationships everyday.. or have you not heard the song close friends??" August laughed

"This dead not funny. Plus shawty never said they was in a relationship, she just said she was interested"

"So then why the fuck you been talking me to death for the last 2 hours??. We suppose to be recording" he scoffed

"Bruh I don't know what this feeling is I experienced yesterday with her was but it hurt"

August looked at him like he was stupid "nigga you just said what the feeling is. You're hurt! What the hell you smoked today, I need some"

Ignoring August he started to recap yesterday and run down what happened for the 5th time even tho he didn't think Aug was even listening.

FLASHBACK (Chris POV)

"I want my family back"

"Huh??" She looked at Zander never making eye contact with me

"If you can Huh then you can hear Zendaya."

"Chris no" She walked out of Zander room and I immediately followed her.

"What do you mean no Zen??"

"Look I said what I said" she plopped down on a chair in what I assumed to be the den in this house.

Looking around at the pictures in the room I was confused. Picking up a picture of her sitting on my lap I studied it before looking at another one of us in the pool while she was pregnant. There was pictures all over this room of us but yet she was telling me she didn't wanna be a family. Sitting next to her and placing Zander in my lap I studied her face and she just wouldn't make eye contact

"Zendaya" I cupped her chin and made her look at me.

"Chris I already said no"

"How are you saying no when you literally have pictures of us all over this room??"

"That doesn't mean I want to be with you Chris!" Sighing she ran her hand through her hair before speaking in a lower tone. "Chris the pictures are here so that I can remember all the good times we had because no matter what we went through we had way more good times than bad. There's a lot of memories between us that I still love and these pictures represent them"

"We can make more good memories. I still love you. I know we've been through shit but it hasn't changed the way I feel about you"

"Chris I LOVED you. However you had be looking like a goofy while I was pregnant, you abandoned me, you abandoned your son and you treated us like we meant nothing"

"Loved??"

"Yeah loved. If you want to be technical I had seven months to get over you. You left when I was seven months pregnant. So you left me in the last two months of my pregnancy and then the first five months after I gave birth."

"So you just don't care??" I said standing up with Zander "He deserves both parents"

"Chris don't do that!" She stood up "I care about you and I always will but that doesn't mean that I have to love you or be with you. You don't get to guilt me, he will have both parents as long as you play your role. People co parent everyday"
