"Wait up!" Mackenzie called, chasing me farther into the woods. "Come on, slowpoke!!" I tripped, rolling down a hill and scraping my knee. "Oww," I whimpered. My little hands were covered in grass and scrapes. Mackenzie was stumbling towards me, her pink backpack bouncing up and down.
"Daisy!!" She whined, tears welling up in her eyes. "You should've been more careful." She pouted and looked up. "Where are we now?" I asked, for some reason lowering my voice. "I don't know," Mackenzie said, lowering her voice and sitting in front of me. "I've got bandaids!!" She slung off her back back and started digging, but a dark figure appeared above her, I tried to scream, but it was too late. The monster had engulfed her and dragged her away.

I woke up with a jolt. Looking around,I realized that my phone was ringing, saving me from the nightmare. Tired, I answered. "Hello?" I yawned, waiting for an answer. "DAISY OMIGOSH COMMERE!!!" A loud excited voice shouted through the phone. "Good morning to you too, Macaroni." I said sarcastically. "No time for bitching get over here now!!!"
Then she hung up. I sat up in my bed. "How old were we in that dream..?" I said to myself as I begrudgingly got out of bed. "I've only known Mack for four years, we couldn't have been that young." I was a freshman in high school, a lonely introvert. I didn't care. Mackenzie went to a private school for her religion, even though she never acted like what she was supposed to. I didn't care. I think that's what made us friends. I took off my shirt, trying to pick a nice long sleeved shirt cause it was getting cold outside. I hate the cold. I love warm stuff. My mind drifted to cuddling with a nice guy under a blanket watching scary movies while eating Frit•s. Suddenly I was dressed and I was in the bathroom. I brushed my teeth, combed my floofy short red hair, stuck on my glasses, and slipped on my shoes as I walked out he door. I walked for like two minutes to get to Mackenzie's house down the road. "Comeoncomeoncomeon!!!!" She said. "What's got you so excited this morning?" I growled, blinded by her optimism. "I wanna go exploring!! We can camp in the woods, scare kids, maybe beat up some people..." she started muttering and I snapped my fingers to get her out of that daze. "The forest!!" Mack said, looking up at me. She was about a foot or so shorter than me, it was nice if I needed a armrest . "Actually that sounds pretty cool." I said nodding. I love camping, scaring kids, beating up people... the norm. "Let's go tomorrow though. It's winter vacation. Can we just walk down to the shopette for today? Plan out our stuff?" Mackenzie nodded and started down the road. It was a normal life, but I was okay with it. My best friend and I, walkin down to the shop to get a milkshake. I looked up at the trees, then started to walk with Mackenzie, taking about random stuff and making fun of people as we go.
