"I think we're lost.." I said, looking up at the y'all trees that seemed to go on forever. "The police would get lost looking for our dead bodies," Mackenzie said, obviously not caring one little bit. "Let's just find a spot to camp, okay? I don't wanna walk anymore."
We looked around for a bit, eventually settling on a huge tree that had had some weird markings. I started setting up camp, while Mackenzie was out looking for fire wood. I picked up a bunch of rocks and placed them in a circle, making sure the fire wouldn't burn this beautiful place down.
"Who's around the tree of soulssss"  a voice whispered in my ear. "Who's going to kill you??? who? WHO?" I started to shake. "Who's there?!" I shouted, reaching for my machete that was stuck in my bag. Fuck. I thought. fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck. I fell backwards as a gust of wind pushed me down. I braved myself for something to hurt, but when I opened my eyes Mackenzie was standing right over me. "Are you okay?" She asked, holding her hand out. "I-I don't know," I said, grabbing Mackenzie's hand. She pulled me up, and as it got dark we lit the campfire and attempted to tell some scary stories, but we were so tired we just went to our tents and fell asleep. Or at least maybe Mackenzie was asleep. I was wide awake. What was that thing??? My mind screamed as I sat up. Maybe these woods are haunted, we should go home NOW!! Another voice in my head yelled back at the other one Don't you remember that we're in the middle of the thick woods, lost?! I tried to clear my mind my turning on my phone to find a couple of notifications.

Hey dasey, I had more important things to do than go on a camping trip, sorry 😁
I sighed. Why did I like this guy? My mind drifted back to middle school, just about a year I met Mackenzie.
"Hey, ketchup head." Someone called from behind me. It was the first day of school, I had just moved to the town of Terina from somewhere north. I just expected people who have known each other for a while to call themselves stupid nicknames. A bunch of boys that looked like they flunked the first couple of years and thought of themselves as superiors cornered me, and I tried to slip away, but there was already a crowd. One of the biggest guys stepped forward and growled "what's your problem, you little shit?" I stared silently at the ground. "Listen, you disgusting little shit," you better answer me before I get angry...!"
I stayed silent.
He raised his hand and made it into a fist.
"Wait!"
