I groaned and pushed him out of the way. I was needed at a meeting and will not let his presence stall me or deter me in any way.

“Why the hell are you here Aiden?” I said as I walked to the elevators. I felt that he wasn’t that far behind me, following me.

“Is that the way you should treat your fiancé who just came back from a long business trip?” he teased.

I stood there, waiting for the lift, very annoyed.

“I’m busy. I don’t have time to mess around,” I snapped. Finally, the doors opened and I walked in. Aiden followed after.

“Fine, fine. I’m here to attend the meeting as well, see if you need any help at all,” he leaned casually on the wall.

“Well, as I said before, I don’t need, nor want you help. I am perfectly capable of doing this myself,” I crossed my arms.

“Okay then, whatever you say. I’ll just sit in the back and stay quiet.”

The doors opened to the floor where the meeting was held. I went straight to the boardroom and greeted everyone. Aiden followed and did the same.

The meeting progress slowly. I answered everyone’s questions thoroughly. The investors were impressed. I glanced at Aiden’s directions and smirked. See, I know what I’m doing. He smiled back smugly.

As everyone left, it was just me, Jenny and Aiden in the room. Jenny was gathering everything and I just waited for her, not wanting to be alone with Aiden. All three of us walked back to the elevator. When we got to our floor, Jenny went straight to her desk as I went to my office. Aiden followed me like he owned the place and sat down on the couch.

I went to my desk and fixed some files. I purposefully ignored him and his presence entirely as he sat there on his phone. Seriously, if he as nothing better to do, he should just leave.

“Don’t you have somewhere to be and someone else to annoy?” I said, not even looking up.

“Nope,” he replied. He started to lay down on my couch, making himself comfortable. “I told my family that I was going to spend some quality time with you and they were ecstatic. So I’m at your disposal all day,” he smirked.

“Oh joy,” I stated. “If you’re at my disposal, go leave and go out with one of your many girls or something. Go to a bar and get a drink. You aren’t needed here.”

“Now how do you think it would look like if I was seen with another girl every night or going to a bar to get drunk. I have an image to uphold Katalina. Plus, it wouldn’t be good to see if I was seen around with another woman if rumors are already starting up that we’re secretly seeing each other.”

I froze and looked at him finally. Horror struck me. “What? What rumors?”
