Sorry it's been so long. But yay for an update! Maybe... haha. This is the result of me not wanting to do any homework or studying. It may have turned out crappier than intended. What I had going on in my mind probably sounds way better. But this is the gist. Enjoy!
“Katalina.” Aiden’s voice was hard. The way he glared at me, I could literally feel the hate and hurt from him.
I gulped, trying to figure out what to say. “Aiden. I can explain,” I began. A part of me is asking why on earth I have to explain to him. I mean, it’s my life. But another part of me is saying that he deserves an explanation.
“No need. I saw what was going on.” Aiden crossed his arms, but then he smiled. And it wasn’t one of those friendly smiles. “Now it just all makes sense.”
I got off the lift, Dereck at my side. I looked up at him, and he was glaring at Aiden. I put a hand on his arm to keep him calm.
“Aiden, please, just let me explain.”
“Save it, Katalina,” he snapped. “I actually thought you were different. For the first time in a while, I saw something else in you. Something I could relate to. You work hard to where you want to be in life. You’re smart, and do things the way they should be done. But I guess I was wrong.”
“Aiden, please.” My voice was just a whisper. I felt the hurt and disgust in his tone and it just made me want to cry.
“Oh, don’t start now with the waterworks, love. It’s not going to make everything better. You’re just proving that you’re just another one of those spoiled little bitches that does whatever she wants and gets whoever she wants,” Aiden hissed.
Then out of nowhere, Dereck punches Aiden in the face, causing him to hit the ground. I screamed, tears streaming down my face, but rushed forward to hold Dereck’s arm back before he takes it any further.
“You better shut the fuck up, man!” Dereck yelled at Aiden. “She is not a spoiled little bitch getting her ways whenever she wants. You, of all people should know that!”
“Dereck! Please, stop.” I cried, holding him back. I look down at Aiden, who is holding the side of his face. I spot a little blood coming from his lip.
“And who the fuck are you to tell me what I know and don’t, huh?” Aiden says as he gets back on his feet. “You don’t know me, man. And you obviously do not know who you are dealing with.”
“I know enough. Aiden Crestwell. Blackmailed my girlfriend here to marry you, just to get the ultimate business deal with her family’s company. Then you were a constant nuisance in her life, making her miserable and annoyed with you. But when she broke down, something changed. She entrusted you with her secrets, with her past. You cared. You felt the need to protect her. You were there every day, making sure she was safe from this fuckin lunatic. You even went as far as to hire some bodyguards.”
“And what the fuck is your point?! So what if I did all those things. Any rational person would!” Aiden glared at my boyfriend. I watched silently as they stood toe to toe, arguing.
