Chapter 7: confrontation

About an hour later, Todoroki pulled up to the bus stop where (y/n) was dropped off. At the sight of his car, her eyes visibly lit up before they dimmed with guilt once again.

He sighed to himself, opening the passenger seat. A silent offer for her to get in which she reluctantly accepted. For the duration of ten minutes, they sat in silence before the woman finally spoke.

"Todoroki, I'm so sorry. I hurt you so much and I feel pathetic for making you deal with me."

"Don't."

"But it's like I'm using you."

"Are you?"

"Of course not!"

"Then what are you ashamed of?" Shoto shut off the vehicle as he turned to fully look at his companion. His eyes drank in her puffy red eyes and messed up hair in the long silence during which she wiped her face and tried not to break down. Her sadness filled the atmosphere.

"I'm so sorry Shoto. I didn't mean to be so awful."

"But you never were, I just made a few bad choices."

"It takes two to argue though."

"Then it was both of our faults."

"But..." (Y/n) was ready to put the blame back on herself however Todoroki's stern gaze made her quiet.

"Do me a favor and stop trying to find ways to blame every issue on yourself."

"But it is my fault this time."

"How?"

"Because i introduced Katsuki, i complied to his demands, and i ignored you."

"But i said yes, i let him use you and instead of confronting it all, I kicked you out to be with him even though i knew you wouldn't last long."

"..."

"Exactly. We both contributed to this problem and you know it. So stop lying to yourself." The silence of the car was excruriating wjile the half and half man continued to analyze her, looking for any sign of doubt. After a few minutes of finding nothing, he finally reached out for an embrace but she flinched away.

"But momo."

"What about her?"

"She loves you and she probably treats you better than i ever could. It would be a waste if you just left her. She's perfect." By now Shoto's patience was beginning to wane. Didn't she just say that she missed him over the phone, that they would work it out? So why wouldn't she just take him so they could move on with their lives? (Y/n) moved even closer to the door once she saw the small irk mark on his head.

"You of all people should know i don't love her. Why are you still pushing me away?"

"I-"

"Everytime anything comes up, you always push me away and i hate it so much. I love you. I want to be there for you, so why do you never let me?" His tone was cold while his voice slightly rose.

"Because i'm not good at love! I love you Todoroki and when i had you i wanted nothing but to stay by your side forever yet i still hurt you. You expect me not to think something's wrong with me? I'm trying to make you happy and you're treating me like I'm an idiot. I am fully aware of my reluctance, but it's not because I don't care, it's because i do! And you're way too perceptive not to know that already."

In a desperate attempt to get away (y/n) tried to create a portal under herself but the strain of yelling and crying had finally taken effect, leaving her too tired to do so. Todoroko soon caught on to what she was doing and practically leaped into the passenger seat so that his knees were on either side of her thighs while he pinned her hands above her head.

"No. You're not allowed to just teleport out of arguments anymore. You need to face the issue and be there to see how it plays out."

"I already did and it played out with you criticising me. Now you're going to scold me a-" The young woman sat in pure shock as her Ex pressed his lips against her's in a desperate attempt to convey his feelings. His love, irritation, desperation, and exasperation coursed through his body and into her own while he tangled his fingers in her upheld ones. As suddenly as it'd started the kiss ended, leaving them both breathless.

"Please, try for me. Try to stay and work things out before you disappear again. Ok?" (Y/n) sighed into his chest before replying with a small 'fine'
