Hiccup's stomach growled, he remembered that he did not have a decent meal before the dragon training. He had lost an amount of blood from his wounded head. But he couldn't care less now that he is an official traitor to the villagers' eyes and a total failure before his father's eyes. His father said he was a disappointment. He'd lost his mother a long time ago, he'd just lost everybody's trust, he'd just lost his father. And now he's about to loose the one and only soul who understood him this past weeks.
The Gods are totally playing with his fate. 'I hope you're all happy to see me suck up down here' he thought as he looked up.
"I wish I just left him alone to die than ending up here"
But the truth is he couldn't Toothless, at the same time Toothless couldn't kill Hiccup. There was something between them that made them bond together as if they were fated to ride side by side.
Both Hiccup and Toothless knew from the start that they couldn't kill each other, because when they first met they both looked frightened. And when they looked deeply within their eyes, they saw..............themselves
Hiccup's attention suddenly went to the prison entrance, feeding time perhaps. He pushed himself further back at the darkest side and faced the wall making him feel a bit dizzy as he turned.
The aroma of fresh food caught his attention again that made his tummy growl. He also sensed that the person carrying the food has come in front of the prison bars. Before he could ever refuse the the food his stomach growled for the third time.
"I know you're hungry Hiccup I could hear that growling sound"
Hiccup recognized that voice, obviously it wasn't from the prison guards cuz the voice was pitched high. Not just any lady of Berk, but a certain tough blonde viking lass that had a part of his heart. She sounded concerned, worried and was hoping to find answers from him.
Hiccup turned around but kept his face well hidden from the dark. Astrid on the other hand could see his face but not entirely. She noticed a few blood drops on the floor before noticing his head from the shadows. Even though she couldn't see his entire head she sensed that he aided himself. The guards don't give a damn to their prisoners.
"Hiccup please eat, you need your strength back"
He did not budge, he just stared at her. Astrid starred at him as well, although it was dark. But then again he moved a little, there was a small beam of light beneath him. Astrid had the chance to look at his eyes, and there he was. To her surprise, because she just recognized them just now, he had two beautiful emerald eyes, two innocent beautiful emerald eyes that starred back at her ocean blue eyes.
'Those eyes' She thought as she looked deeply at him.
"You know, starring at me and giving me a meal won't help my problem. thank you very much"
Astrid was cut off with her moment by Hiccup's sarcastic tone. It might had been years that had passed before he could ever speak. Astrid gently placed his food on the floor before she stood up straight, waiting for him to eat his food. Hiccup wondered, of all vikings on Berk that could deliver his food. Why does it have to be Astrid? Maybe there was something she wanted to know.
"Look, I didn't mean or at least expected you to end up on a cell"
"Why?" he asked "why did you have to tell everybody, most especially him?"
Astrid was caught off guard, supposedly SHE should have asked why than him. To the word 'him' he meant his father, Stoick the Vast, Chief of Berk.
"Hiccup, you knew we can't be with dragons. It runs in the blood for generations, it's tradition"
"Tradition? Does it have to be like this till the next generation comes? Killing?-"
"-I've spent almost an entire month with that dragon, and am I dead? NO! Not even a single scratch from him. Next thing that happened he offered his friendship and I did the same for him. If he ever wanted to eat me he had plenty of time to rip my head off, but guess what he did not. He is innocent as we are and you guys had to go straight killing 'em without even thinking what could be the possibilities of these raid problems.
He was fuming.
"You guys don't get it do you? You're still attached with this tradition our parents forced us to believe. What I did was for the greater good for all of us and I don't give a damn breaking the rules. I'm not this viking you're forcing me to be, I'm not like all of you. And if you think I'm going crazy, well I'm not because what I did was the right thing to do and I'd risk my life to do something right than live doing something wrong "
He paused, his head aching the minute he fumed. The lass that stood before him couldn't react to what he just said. Astrid never knew this side of Hiccup, well he barely knew him. She never expected for him to speak out his emotions like this now that he's in a prison cell waiting for his trial. Deep inside she felt guilty for running to the village rather than staying to hear him out.
She was about to say something until she was cut-off by him.
"I was afraid Astrid, I was afraid of him when I found him. I could have ended his life because I was a viking, but when I looked at him he was as scared as me. When I looked him in the eyes, I saw....myself in him. I really don't expect you to understand this Astrid because you had never been afraid in your life..........and I have"
Astrid kept quiet. Hiccup knew that this was what she wanted to know, but there was one more thing he had to say...
"You know, I was deeply in love with you Astrid. Although I kinda knew you don't feel the same for me, and it will never will be"
And that ended their conversation. Astrid was shocked to what he had said to her. She couldn't take the pressure. Her feet finally had the sense to move , slowly she tried to walk away from him, instead she ran away as far from him. She ran to her house, went up to her room and slammed the door. She jumped to her bed but didnt cry. Although she sort of felt something had stabbed her heart and it was unlikely for her to feel pained. Pained from the words of a scrawny young boy who ended up in Berk's prison cell.
The need of cooling her mind had just came to her. She then grabbed her axe beside her bed and ran to the forest, trying to forget the conversation with Hiccup as she threw her axe at those poor trees.

I wish my brain had pop this idea sooner than now, typing a story and academic work, and sometimes performances, is never easy. Urgh
So how was the story? Too angsty dont ya guys think?
Don't worry sweetness overload will come soon my dear friends😝😝😝😝 and humor too.
I'm trying to fit characters's POV since i realized it would be easier for me to write and explain a character's feelings. I'll limit POVs to some of the characters though but it's up to you guys if you want some POVs.
Hey have you read the stories I suggested? Almost the same right? but everybody has their own twist 😄😄 I'll make sure to make my very own twist for you guys.😄😝😆😂
Oh and thank you Girlpower100 for following me and adding my story to your reading list
