Lily ran through the woods for hours. When she realized she was out of her pack's territory, she decided to rest. She found a cave and decided to take shelter there.
She put her hands on her stomach as if it would bring comfort the 2-week old fetus. Even if it was just a bundle of cells, she didn't care. She knew as soon as she felt it, that she would love and care for this baby no matter what, even if it was the offspring of the alpha who raped her.
In the cave, where the ground was softest, she laid down.
When morning came, she shifted back to her human form.
As the omega, she spends the majority of the time in her wolf form, as it can withstand more damage than her human body. But she needed to find food and build a house from the cave. And to get the resources, she needed to have her opposable thumbs with her human form.
But once she did that, she hunted in her wolf form, once again de-transformed, and cooked it over the fire. At the end of the day, in her wolf form, she rolled around in mud before going to her cave house and slept.
She used the mud to cover her shined white fur, in hopes it would make her less noticeable.
She liked to stay in her wolf form as much as possible. Even though technically her "natural" form is human, she felt safer and more comfortable as a wolf.
Luckily, transforming won't hurt the baby. When she transforms, so does the baby. But even then, it's only when the baby has developed. And being a werewolf, their baby already has genes that allow it to transform.
In fact, it's more common for mothers to give birth in their wolf form because it's easier on their body. Unless the pack has a healer that specializes in assisting births, giving birth to a human as a human is more painful and difficult, and often longer.
It's easier to give birth to a pup as a wolf, to werewolves anyways.
She wasn't planning on being human much during her pregnancy. It's safer for her and the baby. And it's easier to blend in and move around in the woods as a wolf.
When morning came around, she hunted and gathered berries to eat. And when night fell, she would go to sleep in her cave.
The only thing keeping her sane was playing with the animals, swimming occasionally, and staring at the moon.
It was quite weird, for her to have such an obsession with the moon, like it was calling out for her.
She didn't question it, she was a creature of the night. But she did think it was funny because wolves are often associated with the moon and howling at it, even though it's false,
But there she was, feeling attracted and drawn to it.
She kept her routine for 2 weeks. For 2 more weeks, she and her poppy seed of a baby lived peacefully in the woods.
That is until she was discovered.
Around midnight, she was awakened to the sound of wolves, a bunch of them, running and howling.
Immediately, as a reflex, she guarded her abdomen.
Damn it, did they find me?
She knew by their scent that they were werewolves, as opposed to regular wolves. Not to mention they were also bigger.
Lily was smaller than normal werewolves, and she was able to mask her scent, so she had the appearance and scent of a regular wolf.
I guess it wasn't good enough
She began running, she exited the cave on the smaller opening on the side opposite to the main entrance. Luckily, she was small enough to squeeze through.
Unfortunately, the cave exist just led to a tunnel and she hasn't explored it yet, so she decided to hid in the tunnel and hope they couldn't get her.
She didn't want to get lost in the tunnels or have the exit lead right to them.
She hoped that her small body and the small hole only she could fit through would give enough protection. She knew a regular, well-built werewolf would never be able to fit in the hole.
If her assumptions were right, according to how loud the wolves ran, they were pretty big. Probably part of the pack army.
Pack armies are a group of the toughest pack members. They protect the pack and if 2+ packs are at war, the pack armies are the ones fighting, though usually in that case the alphas fight with them.
Pack soldiers are tough, big and very strong. If they were looking for Lily, the scrawny wolf won't stand a chance against them.
Lily curled up in a ball in her wolf form. She wrapped her tail around her that covered her belly and her face.
She wrapped her tail around her as if it would shield her from anything that happened.
She curled up in an attempt to look as small as possible, even smaller than what she already was.
She hid in the corner, the darkest place she could see. She hoped that her efforts would pay off and the pack of werewolves wouldn't find her.
But when was she ever so lucky?
