Lily woke up the next morning and stretched her arms and let a yawn slip out. She looked around the room she was in, confused as to why she was in such a nice place. She was dazed with sleep and it took her a while to remember what happened the past day.
She began to feel anxious due to being in a strange and fancy house. Her sensitive nose was filled with so many new scents, it overwhelmed her. She wanted to get out.Even if the room was large, the house was massive, she still felt trapped. So she did the only reasonable thing her brain thought to do, escape.
She had mixed feelings. The twins were so nice and she felt safe with them, but she didn’t like being the rogue in Blood Moon’s territory.
They offered hospitality to her, but she didn’t feel comfortable in a house that wasn’t her home. She didn’t want to make them mad by escaping, but she just needed to get out. She hoped they would understand. But despite her efforts, she didn’t manage to escape unknowingly. Within twenty minutes of her escape, the twins already knew something was off.
“How’s Lily?” James asked when he saw the nurse.
“She’s fine, I checked on her 20 minutes ago and she was still sleeping.”
“What about now? Can I see her?” Jared asked, more like demanded, the nurse. Emily looked confused as to why they cared for much for the girl but knew better than to deny the soon-to-be alphas.
“Sure thing,” she leads the way to the guest room Lily was staying in. She unlocked the door, pushed it open and the twins rushed in there. “Now will you mind telling me wh-?” Emily paused her train of thought as her eyes landed on the empty bed and messy sheets. Without saying another word, the nurse cleaned up the mess as the boys transformed to look to their mate.Meanwhile, Lily was torn. She wanted to run and seek shelter, but another part of her wanted to stay. She had no reason for turning back. She didn’t know them, she was a rogue. And they would most likely kill me and the baby. She thought, and as she did, it gave her the push and inspiration to get out of the territory. I have to protect the baby, my baby, no matter what.
But what about Jared and James? She found herself thinking about the two boys but immediately shook her head in an attempt to clear her thoughts.
I can’t think about them. I can’t think about how kind and gentle they were, how nice they smelled, almost like vanilla. No! Stop thinking about them! She was in inner turmoil. As much as she hated to admit, she felt attracted and drawn to them. Somehow just being close to Jared and James made her feel safe and warm. She didn’t know what was going on, and it scared her. So she ran.She smelled a slight hint of something familiar, almost like a... warm... vanilla? But that’s impossible! She looked behind her to see where the smell was coming from.
*snap*
She heard a twig snapping and quickly turned her head towards the noise too and saw a figure zooming by.
Shit. Shit, am I going to get caught again?
To avoid getting caught and having to face the wrath of the alpha for escaping, she somehow managed to find the strength to be even faster. She ran as fast as she could. I can’t let them catch me, or else it would’ve all been for nothing.
She dashed throw the trees and bushes. After a minute of running, she looked back expecting whoever was chasing her to be gone.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case and when she looked back, she was met with two large wolves chasing after her angrily. They seemed familiar, even smelled familiar, but she couldn’t think of why and didn’t have any time to spare on questions.
She only had one thought in mind. Protect. I must protect.
With that single goal in mind, she gained a boost in energy and stamina. Her adrenaline was pumping so hard she could do loops around the Earth is she wanted to.
As if a miracle, she managed to lose whoever was following her.Goddamnit! Jared screamed in his head and sat down to catch his breath as he watched his, what would soon be revealed, mate disappear in the trees.
It’s okay, brother, James said telepathically, walking up beside Jared I have a feeling that she’ll come back, we’ll see her again.
Lily continued her track and headed North. If what my mother told me was correct, there was a pack there. A pack that would take me in. Black Gibbous.
