Chapter 5

Once Jimin heard her acceptance, he placed his hand on top of Maddie's and flashed his eyesmile. He then maneuvered them through the crowd and toward the bar. Along the way, they bumped into Yoongi.

Surprisingly, he was dancing. With someone. Not being antisocial. Jimin's face registered shock. Yoongi noticed his expression and laughed.
"What?"
"Hyung, you're interacting and not being a rock. Who's your friend?"

Yoongi shrugged with a smile and swept his hand towards a slightly taller woman with a thick, solid frame. Her skin was like velveteen milk chocolate. An oval face, haloed by black shoulder-length microbraids, held spheres of polished onyx above softly curved cheekbones and a wide cupid's bow mouth.

"This exquisite beauty is Latoreya. Who's your new friend Jiminie?"

Jimin slightly nodded at Latoreya and pulled Maddie a little forward. He shot a smile and proudly introduced his new companion.

"This is Maddie. Maddie, this is my hyung Yoongi. I promised her a drink, so we're off to fulfill said promise."
Suga nodded and turned back to his dance partner. Right as Jimin was leading the blonde girl away, his hyung touched his elbow. He turned back to have Yoongi tilt his head to Chim's ear.

"Nicely done Chim. Your lady is flawless. Meet me up in VIP after you get your drinks. I think Miss Latoreya and I could also use refreshments."

As he spoke, his low voice caused tingles and heat to cascade down Jimin's body, causing him to shiver. The reaction caught him off guard. Gasping, he covered it by slighty pushing his hyung away and laughing.
"That tickled! We'll meet you up there."

Jimin and Maddie then left the couple to dance and cut a path through the crowd. Finally reaching the bar, Jimin got the attention of the bartender.
"Can I get a Jack and Coke and whatever Beautiful wants," indicating the woman next to him.
The bartender swings his tired eyes to Maddie.
"Cranberry vodka please."

The man nodded and began their order. Another bartender approached and set two shot glasses in front of them. When they looked up confused, the bartender smiled and told them it was compliments of the mistress of the house. They each picked up a glass and looked out onto the dance floor. Jimin raised his, saluting Maddie.

"Happy Birthday to me!"

He sang, placing the shot glass to his lips and throwing his head back. He relished the slight burn as the alcohol slid down his throat. Maddie took a breath and did the same, following the handsome idol's lead. Her experience was much less pleasant than Jimin's. It was bitter and set everything the alcohol touched on fire. Her eyes watered as she coughed and sputtered.

"What the hell was that demonic substance!?" She gasped out.

Jimin laughed heartily, throwing himself onto the bar. She thumped his arm with her tiny fist and he laughed even harder.

"First off, what was that? A mosquito biting me?"

He chuckled at her murderous expression before continuing.

"It's called Soju. The national drink of Korea. It's kinda like vodka just not as strong"
"Not as strong? It was so bitter and burned so bad," She said sticking her tongue out.
Jimin nodded, grabbing their drinks and handing Maddie hers.

"I noticed the bitter. It's not supposed to be. It should have been sweet. Maybe a new brand. I don't know. Let's not worry about it. C'mon, Yoongi hyung is waiting for us."

As the singer pulled the petite girl by her free hand, neither noticed the interaction further down the bar.

"I did what you asked. Now where's my money?"
