Previous Day
Midoriya was stunned, his jaw dropping open.
Kirishima's lips were lined right up against Kacchan's.
Midoriya was certain that Kacchan would shove Kirishima away and have a load of swear words to fire at him, so Kacchan's reaction shocked him even further.
The one and only, the soul crushing, the top of their class, Lord Explosion Murder himself, Kacchan was desperately kissing Kirishima in exchange, holding on to Kirishima like he was going to die if he let him go.
If Midoriya had to explain it, it would've looked like Bakugou had forgotten to breathe, and Kirishima was his only gateway to air.
Midoriya aimed his flashlight at the ground, awkwardly averting his gaze from the two. He wanted to give them space and let them have their moment. It was sweet and all, but it contained way too much PDA for his taste.
Yaoyorozu and Iida looked like they had the same idea in mind. Midoriya was now presented underneath Yaoyorozu's flashlight like a spotlight. Midoriya shielded his eyes with his arm, and squinted.
"I know we've found Bakugou. But what about Ochaco?" Yaoyorozu wondered aloud.
Iida locked his hand onto Midoriya's wrist. With all of the stress of this afternoon, Midoriya broke into a smile, even with his severely frozen lips.
Iida had done so to prevent Midoriya from sprinting into another frozen lake because of another adrenaline rush. He had jolts of adrenaline every time they mentioned Kacchan or Uraraka so far, so he was able to understand their concerns.
"I'm not worried. Kirishima screamed loudly enough to scare away dozens of hordes of birds. If they heard it, Uraraka was sure to have heard him. She should be headed to our direction, and will be here any second now. I bet Todoroki has found her already," Midoriya answered.
Todoroki momentarily had left to stop the fires. Bakugou struck each one like a torch, and it created some sort of domino effect, lighting up every tree within its space, which then became a cycle. Even if they couldn't see the fires now that they were doused, Todoroki appeared to have cleared the area. The air smelled damp, but cold with the snow under their feet.
Shards of ice clanging together sounded through the forest, and it grew louder as the familiar clash approached. Todoroki was nearby.
Todoroki whisked through the trees with his ice, and finally came to a stop when he found the group. "No more fire," he announced.
Todoroki turned, and his eyes fell upon Bakugou and Kirishima. They weren't kissing anymore, but they were stuck in a trance. They were giving each other googly eyes, and smiling like idiots. It was odd to see Bakugou smiling for a reason other than himself.
"Don't ask." Midoriya chuckled softly, gripping Todoroki's hands. One felt pretty cold, with Todoroki just barely using his ice.
"You're freezing, Izuku," Todoroki whispered. "We need to get out of here and get you somewhere warm."
"But the walk will take two hours! There's no way we'll make it back without freezing to death."
"That's why I planned ahead of time." Iida felt proud of his time to shine. All the others had helped on this mission except for himself.
