December 18th
Flopped over Bakugou’s lap, Kirishima was playing a dangerous game of Mario Kart against Sero, Kaminari, and Jirou. The game that destroys friendships.
There was a gigantic TV in the common room, and there was no better use for it than to play video games.
Kaminari and Jirou had been dating prior to December. Jirou still pretended that Kaminari was a huge idiot and all, but everyone knew that she liked him a lot more than what she put on. It was very sweet.
Twisting and turning his wheel, Kaminari was shouting and cheering for himself. He was currently in first place, and just as his little Yoshi was about to claim the finish line, Jirou sent her jack into Kaminari's ear.
Kaminari jolted, as rays of electricity sprang from his body. Jirou snickered and hijacked Kaminari's original spot, zooming over the finish line.
A whistle blew, and Jirou’s portion of the screen disengaged her remote. Jirou won first place, and her Toad was bouncing in his car, continuing to give the track another go while the others finished their race.
Kaminari laughed as if he had downed fourteen beers, and his hands were now balled into two thumbs up. “Wheeeee.”
“Nice one, Jirou!” Kirishima praised, flashing the girl a wide toothy grin. “You managed to win and make your boyfriend brain dead.”
Kirishima steered his remote against a sharp turn, but Bakugou seized the wheel, and threw it across the room.
“What the hell, Kacchan? I was just about to finish.” Kirishima flipped over onto his back, now frowning up at Bakugou. If he got up to go get his remote, he’d have to move. It wasn’t worth it. Besides, the others had passed him at this point, so he had no shot at winning before they did.
“I need to show you something,” was all Kacchan said.
“Oh, and you couldn’t wait for me to finish the lap I was on?” Kirishima teased. “Dude, I was literally three seconds away from the finish line.”
Sero snickered at the two of them. “You’re Bakugou’s boyfriend now, Kirishima. I honestly don’t know what you were expecting.”
“He’s not my boyfriend,” Bakugou growled. “He’s just an acquaintance with benefits.”
Kirishima sat up on Bakugou’s lap, running a hand through Bakugou’s hair. It spiked right back up after he had done so, a little smile cracking on Kirishima’s lips. “I don’t know, Kacchan. You must like me a little bit, if you’re letting me touch you for this long.
“Fuck you.”
“Sure, what time?”
“I TOLD YOU TO QUIT SAYING THAT!”
“You know, normally you would’ve called me a ‘bastard’, or ‘shitty hair’ already. I’d say that this is quite an improvement.” Kirishima stood up, outstretching a hand to help Bakugou up.
Bakugou didn’t respond to Kirishima. He glared at the hand being presented to him. He knew the others were watching, and he didn’t want to expose himself. They had to know how much he hated Kirishima.
But he didn’t hate Kirishima.
He silently took Kirishima’s hand and got up, not making eye contact with the others. He could only see Kirishima’s face out of the corner of his vision, but he could see that he was smiling. It was one of those smiles where he scrunched his nose, and Bakugou could physically feel his heart melting like heated crayons against canvas.
