Dear Diary, it is 9 days until Christmas. My school started winter break on Friday, the 14th. So far, mom and Nalia have been pretty nice to me. My mothers' sister, Mila is coming over soon, with her boyfriend and son. I've never met her boyfriend or son, nor do I even know their names! I hope they're nice and not homophobic. I'll probably wear my, 'I'm here and I'm QUEER' shirt when they come over as well. I already know Mila is straight, but doesn't support lgbt+ either. If her boyfriend and son are like that, that would be fine.
Mother said I'll have to share a room with my cousin. She told me he is 12 and really likes poetry and music. I know nothing more about him though. It's 6:52 a.m. and I need to do dishes and make breakfast before mom goes to work. I hope the new family is nice, though I don't expect them to get me anything special for Christmas. To be honest, I expect to be ignored until I need to clean anything. I'll probably put another entry in my dairy today if I have time, but I don't think I will.'
I closed my diary and put it in the small desk drawer. I then went downstairs and began to fry eggs and do the dishes. My mother likes her eggs fried right in between sunny side up and over medium. Not to much liquid, but also not to hard.
Just as I was finishing her egg and sausages, mom came into the room, ready for work. She works so hard for this family so I didn't mind a whole lot doing work around the house. I used to care, but I guess I'm maturing? Oh well, it doesn't matter. "I'm leaving now. Clean your room and help your sister with hers, as well." My mother told me, right before she left the house.
I didn't bother making an egg for Nalia, since she wasn't going to be up for another few hours or so, so I cleaned my room in the mean time and picked up around the house. Not like there was much to pick up, maybe a sock here and there. I then did laundry and hung out in my room playing with cards. At about 9:30 the 'princess' woke up. Yelling at me she said, "I'M UP! GO MAKE ME SOMETHING TO EAT, WOULD YOU!"
I groaned and got up from my bed, making my way into the kitchen. I cleaned the pan from earlier and made some cheesy scrambled eggs for her. With some hash browns on the side. "Hmph, I guess this will do."
"I'm going to Alejandro's house, is that okay?" When mom wasn't home, Nalia was the boss, she told me what I could and couldn't do at the time.
She thought for a second, "Mmm, fine. I guess you can go see your friend, but be back it time to make lunch." I nodded then left for a 15 minute walk to Alejandro's.

We've been living with Jason and August for about a month, that's already more than most of the other foster parents we've had. They seem like nice people and they really seem to care about us, too. We have our own room in the house, well, for now. Until they drop us off at the orphanage again...unless the adopt us. But that's impossible, right?! It is true that they are both part wolf and really seem to like us. I think they might, really want us to stay. I got lost in thought and shook my head. Returning back to drawing Jason in my sketchbook. One of the only things I have, besides Luzu. "Ashten! Dinner's ready." Luzu called from what was probably the kitchen.
I brought my sketchbook to show August and Jason. "August, I'm drawing Jason, how does it look so far?"
August's face turned a very light pink and one of his ears twitched. "I-it looks really nice! You should go show Jason." I walked over to Jason, who was setting the table with Luzu.
"Hey Jason, what do you think of the drawing I'm making of you? Its not finished yet, but I wanted to show you." I lifted the sketchbook from my arms and handed him it.
His eyes widened slightly, "You drew this? It is so detailed and well drawn. Have you ever considered having a job that involves art and drawing?" My body stiffened and my eyes grew wide.
"I-is it r-really that good?" I stuttered.
"Yes, it is!" He hugged me. For years I haven't had anyone hug me besides Luzu. I stood there astonished.
He let go of me and smiled, then returned to setting the table.
I sat down where I had sat for the past month, next to Luzu. We ate silently for a few minutes, until August brought up something. "Jason and I have been talking and we," he looked at me and Luzu, "we want to adopt both of you."
I could sense Luzu's whole body stiffen and look at me. We stared at each other for a second then nodded. Luzu spoke, "We would love living with you guys."
Smiles broke out on all our faces. Jason and August smiling the brightest. "Tomorrow. We'll go to the orphanage and fill out the papers to become your legal guardians." Jason told us.
Luzu and I were finally going to have a family again. I had all my doubts and now...we're going to be adopted by them! This time will be better, neither of them will leave us. Luzu and I will finally have a place to stay, Luzu will be able to grow up in a household. May this household have a gay couple or not, we're family now.
I talked to Luzu after dinner about being adopted. We were both so giddy about it. We would be able to go to school and maybe even make friends! I couldn't wait to see what life would be like with Jason and August.
