Chapter 3: New Encounters

"Thank you Gracia, it was delicious!"

I smiled and stood up, taking my bowl off the table and walking to the kitchen sink.

Edward didn't look good. He patted his belly and looked in pain.

"Well Ed, that's what happens when you eat too much!" I mocked.

The dude had eaten enough for at least two people.

There was a silent moment of me laughing on my own but then Al started laughing, followed by Maes, Gracia and... Edward..?

"Alright, noted." Ed said while laughing harder.

"Brother, y/n is right. You can't just keep filling yourself up like this, you'll gain weight!" Al said more seriously.

"You didn't even open your milk bottle!"

As always, Ed's milk bottle stood beside his plate, unopened and basically untouched.

"Oh shut up will ya? I can't even enjoy a good meal without you scolding me..." Ed complained.

"Aren't you hungry Al?" Maes said while looking at Al's plate. Which, Edward had not-so-subtly taken from him and completely engulfed.

"Alphonse, you didn't even touch your plate." Gracia said worryingly.

They had noticed that Al wasn't eating the past days. Their reaction was completely understandable.

I silently sipped on my milk bottle as Ed and Al were giving the poor couple another bullshit excuse for why the suit of armour wasn't eating. This time they chose to say he was on a strict diet.

Then they went back to arguing that Ed should drink his milk. I sighed.

"This really makes wonder who the older brother is..." I mumbled to muself, putting my bowl in the sink.

"ARE YOU SAYING THIS BECAUSE I'M SHORT??!! YOU TOO Y/N??!! I THOUGHT YOU WERE ON MY SIDE??"

Well, I guess I was loud enough for Ed to hear me...

The room erupted in laughter.

This kid is seriously obsessed with his height.

"Not at all, I was actually referring to your maturity!" I said giggling.

Ed's face softened and he chuckled lightly.  As if being immature was any better than being short.

"I think that's it for me." He said in a long yawn.

He had been working out all day and stubbornly refused to stop even when Al repeatedly told him to. Maes thinks he's a workaholic but I think he simply can't stand still without shuffling.

"Oh..."

I raised my brows at his comment. "And who's gonna help me clean the dishes?" I pouted.

With that Ed expertly ran away to his room and locked the door.

I frowned. So much for the dishes...

"Well, he doesn't seem THAT full, all of a sudden!" I laughed sarcastically.

"Here, I'll help you." Al said while putting more bowls in the sink.

"Awn thanks Al, you're so sweet..." I smiled before looking back at Edwards door. "Unlike SOME PEOPLE!"

"HEY!" Ed shot back from inside his room. "I'M NOT DEAF YOU KNOW??!!"

Al, Maes, Gracia and I giggled. Alphonse and I started cleaning the dishes and insisted when the couple tried to do it for us. They gave in and walked to their room.
