Monday morning... UGH. Today was my first day of work back after school ended. I'm excited, but also dreading it because I knew it marked the ending of my partial freedom during the holidays. Luckily, my best friends were in the same situation so I wouldn't feel as lonely in my misery. Don't get me wrong, though. The Beanery actually paid well and since I am such an outgoing person, I never really got a bad tip.

I realized I'd been sitting in bed for a while just staring into the white abyss of the ceiling. I looked over and saw the two lumped figures of my best friends in the bed next to me. Their legs were wrapped around each other and their hair in the messiest buns I'd ever seen. They looked so cute that I just had to take a picture. I said a mental "uwu" in my head as I snapped a pic.

I tried to wake Jas up by gently shaking her, but obviously that wouldn't work since she was such a heavy sleeper. I should've known. I grinned as an evil idea suddenly popped into my head. I got out of the bed and walked to the far side of my bedroom and stood in a running position. I sprinted and launched myself onto the two girls, which resulted in groans and pillows to the face.

"Come on guys! We've got work today!" I exclaimed in a much too cheery tone. "Let's get this bread, homies!"

"Brooooooo," Liv groaned. "I think you dislocated my shoulder, bro."

"Sorry, bro," I shrugged, grinning.

I threw the pillows back at them and raced to the bathroom for the first shower. I was glad I didn't have to pick out my clothes today because I had my uniform for work. Sometimes, picking out clothes stressed me out more than finals week. I quickly showered and freshened up and grabbed my clothes. I wore a black v-neck top with black leggings and a pair of black combat boots. I was just lacing up my boots when I heard Liv.

"Yo, hurry up!" Liv yelled as she pounded on the door. "We have jobs, too, you know."

"Yeah, one sec," I said as I unlocked the door so she could shower. "I'm going to stay in here so I can do my makeup. Jas, you can take the guest bathroom down the hall."

"Bro, she's been in there for like ten minutes already. I don't think you have to worry about her. We basically live here every weekend," Liv responded.

Oh, yeah. How could I forget?

I decided to go with simple makeup and applied some eyeliner and mascara. Soon, we were all dressed for work. As we headed downstairs, we waved goodbye to my parents as we went out to Jas's car. We often carpooled to work since both our workplaces were so close to each other, the mall being a few blocks down from the Beanery.

We got to work pretty quickly and split paths as I walked to the coffee shop and Jas and Liv headed towards the mall to Sephora.

"Don't have too much fun, guys!" I yelled after them. They turned around and gave me a small wave.

"We won't!" They replied in unison.

I walked inside the cozy coffee shop, making sure not to bump into anyone this time and walked behind the counter to grab my black apron and black work hat. I hoped today wouldn't be a busy day. Of course, luck was not on my side and a herd of tourists entered not even fifteen minutes later. I should've known since the Beanery was in the downtown area and next to the local community college.

I worked swiftly, taking the customers' orders. My job normally consisted of waiting and cleaning tables, but we tend to swap around to keep it intereting. Others worked behind the cash register, taking payments after the customers were finished. I was so busy in my work today that I didn't realize someone standing behind me until I almost spilled leftover coffee as I spun around. I came face to face with Min Yoongi.
