The next time you awoke it was significantly quiet compared to before. All of the machines were still making their normal noises but the difference was that there wasn't two stressed out monsters arguing over your prone form. Which was a nice change of pace. It had been a while since you weren't awoken with someone in the room with you. The silence was welcoming. It was a little odd that you couldn't hear Papyrus though. Normally, you could hear his boisterous voice from somewhere in the building.
There was a slight pang in your chest that you chose to ignore. Chalking it up to the fact that your SOUL had almost shattered not that long ago. He was an adult. He couldn't be nearby all of the time. Besides, you had no idea how long you were out for. Whenever you closed your eyes it seemed a significant amount of time has passed. Also... why did you even care where he was? The fact that you were still in the building proved that your little stunt had worked. Even if you had passed out because of it. Otherwise the humans would have found some way of seperating you from the monsters. Legally or not.
You slowly sat up and looked around your empty room. The last time you were awake, you hadn't really had a chance to see it. Devin was more important. A lot of bad things could have happened if you hadn't stepped in. Good monsters condemned for the small kindness of trying to help you. Even though it was misguided and pointless, you weren't about to let that happen. They didn't deserve any of the human malice they were receiving.
It was wrong.
It was horrible.
You shouldn't even be involved with them.
Yet somehow, they decided that you were worth something and had almost started another war with your race simply trying to save your sorry ass. Just what the hell were they thinking? Why couldn't they realize that you were a lost cause and just leave you to die in peace?
Letting out a sigh you fell back onto your pillows and stared at the ceiling. This whole situation was annoying. The worst part about it all was that you didn't have an elegant way of pulling yourself out of it without hurting the nice monsters in some way. Your balancing act becoming a lot more complicated than it had before you tried to kill yourself.
Fuck it all.
Pulling out of your thoughts, you actually decided to take in the details of the room that you were in this time instead of falling victim to your own mind. It definitely looked lived in for a partial lab. There were get-well cards littered about as well as small get-well toys and even a couple balloons. For some reason, there were a few socks strewn about and you could only guess that Sans was the culprit for that. As for where all the get-well stuff came from... either Papyrus went overboard or they were from the other monsters you had seen outside before you told the other humans off. It was the only plausible answer. Although it was a nice sentiment, you didn't actually need any of this stuff. Papyrus's room was where you had been crashing and you doubted there was room for all of this new stuff.
Ugh, this was an ordeal.
It was making your head hurt.
You sat back up and began pulling off the wires that had you hooked up to the machines. None of it was being used to keep you alive other than the IV drip. Which was the only one that drew blood when you pulled it out of your arm. Keeping pressure on it for a few moments had taken care of that. The heart rate flat lined and you ignored the urgent keening that it gave off as you swung your legs over the side of the bed to stand up.
