Mortals Meet Percabeth!

Fredrick Chase

Fredrick's POV

Hi, I'm Fredrick Chase, Annabeth's dad. I'm really excited because I haven't seen her in 12 years and today she's coming home! She's staying for one week and apparently she's bringing a friend, but I don't mind, she needs company. I can't believe she's 19 years old, she grew up so fast! Me and my wife Helen were just telling the boys, Matthew and Bobby, that their sister is coming home and they're really excited too.

We were all waiting in the kitchen when we heard a knock at the door. We all bolted to the door and when I opened it, what I saw was definitely my Annabeth. Although she's 12 years older now, she has the same intimidating grey eyes and curly blonde hair and she looks just like her younger self. I quickly help her in with all her luggage and give her the hug that I've been wanting to give since she ran away all them years ago. I'm then surprised to see her friend is a boy! And not just any boy, definitely one that you can tell right away is a player, probably a 'captain of the football team' type of guy. I know I haven't been there for Annabeth but I don't want her hanging around with this boy. He shakes my hand and says, 'Nice to meet you Mr.Chase, my names Percy Jackson.' Reluctantly I shake it back and quickly let them in.

They put their stuff away and I realise I only have one spare bedroom, but its okay he can sleep on the couch. We sit down and he sits a bit too close to Annabeth for my liking but I decide not to say anything. Bobby an Matthew walk in and start asking all their annoying questions.

"What's camp like?"

"How many quests have you went on?"

"Are you two dating?"

I nearly choked on my water at the last question! But Percy just answers calmly and says, "Really cool, I've lost count, and yes."

"What!!" Oops, I didn't mean to say that out loud is all I thought, but too late everyone turned their heads to me. "Is there a problem?" Annabeth says fiercely. "Annabeth can I talk to you." I reply and she reluctantly comes out into the hallway with me. "Annabeth I don't think this is a good idea. You're a smart girl you can do better! I don't think you two should be dating. She replies calmly saying, "No.1 its been 19 years and now you're deciding to look out for me and care about my life. And No.2, dating? Ha, you're about to get a shock!" Them she walks back to the living room. I don't know what she's talking about but I just brush it off.

I sit back down and we make some small talk, which is progress considering it's pretty awkward. Bobby and Mathew are asking their annoying question when I notice something. "Annabeth" I say, " What is that on your finger?" Her reply shocks me, "It's an engagement ring" I can't help it, I just feel so angry, I shout, "NO, I CAN NOT ALLOW THIS  YOUR TOO YOUNG TO GET ENGAGED!" Annabeth looks shocked, but replies calmly, "Well seeing your reaction, I guess I should tell you we were coming today to invite you, but I guess you don't want to come." "I'm sorry I just can't your way too young!" I reply a lot quieter this time. "We're getting married when we're twenty and in our mind that's not too young considering what we've been through! If you don't want to come that's fine, bye!" Then gets up and leaves.

Round about a year later, I receive photos in the mailbox of their wedding, like her walking down the aisle with someone (Chiron). Her and Percy at the alter, the reception and lots of others.

Round about another year later I'm on a business trip in New York and I'm taking a walk through the park and I see a pair of very familiar people. I then realise.....(you guessed it) it's Annabeth and Percy.....with a pram! She sees me and whispers something to Percy, he whispers back and they walk over to me. We talk for a bit and I got to meet my grandchild, Zoe Jackson, and there's another one on the way!
