[2:55pm]

it was a chilly january afternoon, which brought lots of customers into the cafe to take shelter from the snow. you had been working as a barista at your local cafe to help pay for the costs of school and whatnot and as much as you loved the pay, the work load could get quite hectic. as for today, there was a large rush of people then entered the store in one massive wave—signalling that you probably weren't going to be able to finish all their orders and leave by the end of your shift at 3:00pm.

as quickly as you could, you fired through majority of the orders until you met with the last customer. you looked up from the cash, after clearing the previous order you had punched in, when you were met by a warm pair of brown eyes that seemed as if they had the potential to melt the blanket of snow that covered the ground outside. "one hot chocolate please." you nodded and prepared his drink without saying much. at first, you were taken aback by his appearance only to be even more surprised by his low toned voice.

you walked back over to the counter several seconds later, realizing how stupid you were to have forgotten to ask his name to write on the cup. "i'm sorry sir, i never got your name?" "felix," he replied smoothly. you swallowed hard and with shaky hands, tried to print his name as best you could. returning back to the counter once more, you repeated the line you'd memorized for the cafe's promotion. "if you spend an extra fifty cents, your drink comes with your choice of any cookie!" you motioned to the rack of cookies set on display. felix took a careful glance before shaking his head an instead proposing something else, "no thanks. but, if i spend an extra fifty cents can i get you instead?" you could feel the heat rush to your cheeks and tint them a bright shade of pink. meanwhile, felix smirked and tapped his fingers on the counter, waiting for your response. you nervously bit your bottom lip and smiled, "my shift ends in a few, meet me at the table in the back."
