[8:19am]

chan was rarely an early riser (partially because he would always work through the early hours of the morning and sleep through the afternoon) except on one occasion—that occasion being christmas morning. you woke to your boyfriend's cheerful voice pleading you to hurry downstairs. "wake up, baby!" he shouted, running over to your bedside and showering you with gentle kisses all over your face. "chan, please..." you groaned, "five more minutes." chan shook his head and stripped you from the warmth of your covers as he tugged them off you and threw them on the floor. "come on!" he whined. taking matters into his own hands, he carried you on his back down the stairs.

chan was always more exciting about giving gifts rather than receiving and this year he was particularly eager to watch your reaction to the gift he had gotten you—a silver promise ring with his initials engraved on the inside of the band.

setting you down on the couch, chan rushed to the tree and picked out the tiny box he had wrapped himself and placed it into your hands. "open it." being still half asleep, you tried your best to tear the paper and open the box to reveal a silver ring that gleamed in the sunlight that poured in through the windows. "chan..." you looked up with wide eyes. suddenly, you were no longer sleepy. "let me put in on for you," he said. taking the ring into his hands, his fingers trembled as they put the ring on you. he was nervous, but it was the good kind as he wanted this moment between the two of you to be special and memorable—after all, chan was a sucker for sentimental things.

smiling at his thoughtful gift, you gave chan a tender kiss of approval and thanked him for everything. getting shy all of a sudden, chan covered his red cheeks with his hands before telling you the purpose behind his gift. "it's a promise to you, y/n. i promise to always keep you happy as long as we're together. merry christmas."
