minho tightly gripped your hands that were cocooned in a pair of warm gloves. with wobbly knees, rosy cheeks, and a halfhearted smile, you tried your best to keep your balance on the slippery surface below your feet. "i know i haven't gone ice skating in a long time, but never in a thousand years would i have predicted i'd be this rusty," you chuckled. minho slowly skated backwards and pulled you with him, letting your skates glide along the ice. "don't worry, baby, i won't let you fall."
the ice rink was busy—especially this time of year near the holidays—so it was quite crowded. you observed the setting and noticed there were a lot of kids on the rink, playing, skating, and twirling about. you frowned at the sight. "why the long face," minho questioned. you pouted and let go of his hands, struggling to make your way over to the boards that you could hang onto for support. you motioned to all the other skaters in front of you, "look at all these kids! they're so good..." minho noticed you were being harsh on yourself and he didn't like it, seeing you sad was one of the worst feelings in the world.
"if you don't want to skate anymore, we don't have to. but i'm sure with a couple more minutes on the ice, you'll warm up to it again!" you gave a small smile at your boyfriend's encouragement and nodded, "fine. a couple more laps around the rink and then we're getting hot chocolate." "my treat," minho added, "and i'll even ask them to top it off with some whipped cream, just how you like it." content with the plan, you took minho's hand in yours and continued to skate for a few moments more.
