Nothing that happened that day was very noteworthy. Everyone was back to their normal selves, laughing and joking, and even Eugene seemed in a decent mood.

Lawrence gave you a rest from duties that day and you lounged around the school, lost in your thoughts. You talked to Ethan for a bit before he knocked out, and then you cleaned up your room.

The day was pretty boring.

It was during the night that things started to happen.

"Are you sure you don't want to sleep in my room again tonight?" Harry asked for the third time. You giggled, feeling embarrassed.

"I'm fine, Harry, but thank you," you said, smiling. He broke into a smile as well, glad to see you look happy.

"Okay. But if you need anything, I don't mind you waking me up," he said.

"Thank you," you repeated. He waved at you before disappearing into his room, closing the door gently.

You went to your own room, but you didn't feel that tired. You lay in bed, staring up at the ceiling, rolling over on your sides, even lying on your stomach, but you couldn't get comfortable enough to go to sleep. Hours must've gone by before you gave up trying to sleep in frustration.

You stared out the window from your blanket, able to see the moon at this angle. It was almost full, the night outside basked in bright glowing light. Space must be so peaceful, perfectly oblivious of what was happened on little Earth.

You heard footsteps by your door and you held your breath, waiting for them to walk by.

They didn't.

You pulled the blanket up around your neck, curling up and pretending to be asleep, but keeping your eyes open a slit. Slowly your door began to open, and your heart started beating out of your chest. Who could it be at this time of night? And why would they just open the door without knocking?

The person stuck their head in, and you were surprised to see it was Lawrence. He had his backpack on like he was going somewhere, along with a blanket under his arm.

"Lawrence?" you said groggily, sitting up slightly. He looked surprised to see you awake.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Did I wake you?" he asked.

You shook your head, getting up into a sitting position. "I haven't been able to sleep," you told him, stretching.

"I was just checking on you to see how you were doing," he said, opening the door more. "But since you're awake, would you like to come with me?"

You got to your feet, thinking it was better than thrashing around in bed. "Where are we going?" you asked as you came out of the classroom and he closed the door gently.

"Just outside the school. Nowhere too far," he assured you, smiling. Everything was still and quiet as you two took the steps down to the first floor, checking outside the windows for any zombies before heading out the school doors. You went through the gate as quietly as possible, feeling the breeze when you stepped out.

"There shouldn't be any zombies around, because there's no movement out here," he told you reassuringly. "Come, this way."

You followed Lawrence curiously, and saw you were going the same way as you had when walking to the supply storage. Just as you realized what he was doing and why he had the blanket, you approached the side of the road, by the dumpster.
