Andrew's POV
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The doorbell rang.
"I'll get it!" I yelled over my shoulder to no one imparticular.
I was staying with my brother, sister, and parents for the weekend. I really didn't want to come and be away from Paige, but my parents have their ways of convincing me. My father did most of the convincing work, promising to keep my mother off of my back about dating Paige. She hadn't liked it at all when I had first told her. My Dad, on the other hand, had been ecstatic that I was dating a tap dancer. Paige had told me to go to my parents' this weekend anyways; she was working on two dances that she had to finish for a grade in her tap dancing course she was taking. She had actually asked my Dad for help a few days ago. It was so much fun, we had all tap danced together for almost 4 hours. 4 hours of almost straight up tap dancing. It was amazing. I pulled the door open to find no one else other than Britney, leaning on the doorjamb.
"Britney? What are you doing here?"
She slinked through the doorway and I closed the door behind her.
"Your Mom invited me to dinner!"
"What?" Why would my Mom invite my ex-girlfriend who assaulted my current girlfriend to dinner? Just then, Mom came rushing to the door.
"Britney! It's so good to see you! Make yourself at home. Andrew, dear, can I speak to you in the kitchen for a moment?"
I followed Mom into the kitchen.
"Mom, why would you invite Britney here?" I said, rubbing my temples.
"I thought you could get back together with her after what Paige did!"
"What did Paige do, exactly?"
"She cheated on you!"
"What?"
"Yes! I was at your football game the other day and I saw her kissing some other boy underneath the stands! Very scandalous, her cheating on you like that. It makes me wonder how long she's been cheating on you."
No. This wasn't happening. Why would Paige be cheating on me? I grabbed my keys off the counter next to me and headed for the door.
"Andrew, wait! Dinner is almost ready!"
I didn't care. I didn't even hear her. I had to go and confront Paige, weather I liked it or not. This can't be real. This can't be happening. It wasn't happening. Paige would never cheat on me. But my mother would never lie to me.
